I guess if you're looking for a glass half full (or at this point 1/16) view it's that it seems like the right players are doing well.
Seeing Zads, Risto and Girgensons do well at least gives us hope. If the players who clearly aren't part of the future were the "bright spots" i'd be nervous. |

exactly. I often see and hear about how the sabres will have nobody to build around mceichel but watching the U-21's continue to get better despite all the losing is nice to see. |

It goes to what I was saying all along. How good this team is or isn't should have very little to do with who stays or who goes down. If a young player's development is hindered that much by that, and can't improve in that kind of atmosphere, he never had what it takes in the first place. |

Yea, can't say i disagree with that. It helps when those players get the playing time. Sticking a rookie on the pro roster, and using him sporadically is such a waste. Especially if the team isn't chasing a playoff spot. It's not just the sabres, it seems to be a growing trend in a lot of sports. |

It's only been a few games though. I'm not convinced Risto/Zads should be in this environment. They will have their bad games/weeks/months.
This was a big part of Myers/Ennis development being hindered. They were really young in a losing culture with little support |

I'm sure they will. It's all part of the growing pains though. |

Zadorov in 7 games has been on the ice for more goals scored by us with 5 than Cody Hodgson has been in 17 games with only 4.

What is the cutoff for sniper shooting %?
Armia is at 13.9% while Grigo is at a ridiculous 19.2%.

Isn't Kassian regulated to basically 3rd and 4th line goon duties now?? Hodge was a top 3 scorer for us last year and I didn't think Kassian even broke like 20 pts |

Bad bad officiating last night on the Gilmore PI and the safety. I thought they were going to get jobbed on the kick recovery for a bit too.
I think if there's a way to oust Hackett without Marrone going to pieces, you do it. Last in the league in red zone touchdowns and I'm sure not amazing in efficiency. In the Chiefs game they had four cracks from about 25 yards out and over 2 minutes and they tried four times on endzone or 15+ yard passes. And last night, they played it way too cautious on the second drive where we had a chance to go up 10-3.
Even with Spiller and Jackson, the team isn't looking very dynamic on offense. |

No, they aren't. Hackett needs to be the first to go, but Marrone is proving to be a wimp. Punting on 4th and 6 on the opponent's 43 down by 10 with 9 minutes to go is simply sackless football, plain and simple. |

Having a starting QB that can convert in the red zone would make marrone and hackett look alot better. |
