My dream Homer trade that will never happen.
To CAR
Eberle or Yakupov
Klefbom or Marincin
1st 2015
1st 2016
Cap throw ins to make it work.
Nikitin
Fasth+ what ever else to make it work.

To EDM

E.Staal
Sekera
Ward
Maybe a bottom 6 gritty forward.

Discuss or Flame!!!

Ive wanted this deal done for years, just with different Dmen, and Draft picks, because the years are changing. I think helps CAR rebuild. I think EDM get a star player who can teach the young guys on team how to become real pro stars. I think the other players are upgrades, and stop gaps for the team to look else where if need be. I really just like this trade because its cost the Oilers futures, but they dont need more young players, they need guys who want to win, and have years under their belt. Also opens up winger spots for OKC guys to try and grab.

Great game by the Canes even with the loss. In response to the trade proposed. As a Canes fan it certainly is intriguing given how our centers have stepped(we can ignore Rask last night). Only issue is you're taking our number 1 center(arguably best forward, captain, etc.), number 1 def, and number 1 goalie for essentially spare parts and guys that have been rumored in trades all year(Eberle/Marcinin would be my pick, btw). What I'd be curious about is what you would offer for each individually pretending two of those guys don't have NTC in their contracts of course. i also don't think you get a bottom 6 guy in that trade not enough grit. Other issue is J Staal.

The whole point of the trade for CAR is they get a young 1st line winger, a young dmen who could be a top 4 Dmen or better or worst, still out on him. I love him Marty that is. and you get 2 1st round picks and better chance of landing one of the top guys in the draft if not both, its full lotto for all teams out of the playoffs. I dont even think the oilers will make it if they did the trade. I just think it would make them a better team, to build on the younger players for next year. Has for you guys taking back cap or Fasth and Niktin, that just has to do with numbers. The question is, are the Canes rebuilding, or retooling?
