I wonder if Edler and Bieksa's legs are still burning from their ice-time against the Ducks the other night. Time for a good ole fashion hockey trade Mr. Benning.

Major trade? We need to get a real Dman and not a waiver claim. The team has made the quarter Mark and and is around the top. Removing the best Dman and replacing them for a couple of months with a waiver wire pick up is a slippery slope to play.

Too expensive, they want a mint for this kid, we don't have any excess mints that I know of!!

Canucks Army says it's the knee, and that is what it looked like to me. Froward motion of the leg stopped suddenly does a lot of damage to the knee. I did it once playing soccer I went to kick the ball and a player put his foot on the ball to stop it. Insane pain.

I would give a pick a prospect and a player for him.

No one is going to pay them that much. Markstrom a first and Vey is plenty or they can keep him. He is good but not Zedano Chara good.

I would replace Shink for Vey if they wanted, or Jensen

I agree no one should pay them that, but they will ask that. They don't have to trade him so they over shoot and wait for someone in d trouble

They want to get younger ,so a first , Jensen, and Lack would really help their progress.

Canucks can afford that , and it would give us a 24 yr old RHD to go along with Tanev going forward for the next couple of years. Cody Franson is a UFA next year and I would consider him to play 3 rd pair D . Edler Hamhuis on the Left , I would be impressed.

That would be a nice d core for sure

I really see them standing pat unless the start winning ...they are gunning for mcdavid

I just think that if that's your offer than why wouldn't the oilers up the offer ...it's a case where your offer is decent but they can probably get more ..and are asking for much more

Someone on Sportsnet said something that sunk in the other day. I don't listen to a lot of what they say but this stood out. I forget who said this "what if this is really the best the Oilers get. He said every year they talk about the potential and how they should improve , but what if this is the best they are or will be"?

One team has a history over the last 5 years of winning and the other has the history of finishing bottom three. Oilers have some undersized talent ( not that small) that have not played to expectations. Eberle and his 6 mil sounds like a bargain but is it? Yak is no where near where anyone expected?

I know Myers is on a horrible team too but I seen enough of him to want to do a trade.

Also Oilers need a centre and will be in the McDavid sweeps so their first pick is going nowhere unless for Shea Weber

I always had a thing to go by for the last few years . Don't trade with the Leafs or Panthers. They are a bottom team and want to peddle things they don't need.

I think the expectations of the oilers was unjustified... They had the top end skill but lacked the solid goaltending, defensive responsibility, and grit. But I think they just had the bad luck in their forwards being ready before their defense. If they had been able have guys like nurse and marincin ahead of RNH and yak etc than things might not be so bleak.
I do think that they had very little choice in drafting up until yak ...and he was the majority favorite at 1 ...its easy to look back and say why didn't they draft player X instead

I like your panthers leafs theory

I think the flames could learn from that too
