The optics of trading the one guy who spoke out, supposedly trading, lends itself to the total dysfunction of the whole organization. |

Ryan you touched on a really interesting point here: players padding their Corsi. You're one a bad team. You're a mediocre player. You're looking to inject some value into your play. It's interesting to think about. Players know that in many circles, Corsi is being used as the most important indicator of success after points. Some even use it before points. Wonder if that's something we will start to see. |

thing i love? when a team has a Fenwick of 49 and they suck but the team with 51 is a really solid possession team. really? those 2 extra shot attempts per game tell you that much? i buy into those stats more on the extremes. when a team like LA is at 55%, ya that's really f-n good. but for the teams in that 48-52 range? wtf is the major difference, really? |

Why? Seemed like a pretty realistic dissection to the Oilers season to date. It truly is amazing that the same results year after year hasn't facilitated "bold change".
It's sad that Ryan has basically outlined what an alcoholic has to go through before they can start to heal & that's admit what reality is & that they have a problem. What you are asking is a sign that you want to keep drinking. |

I've been told by a reliable person, within the organization, that Taylor Hall has requested a trade. Am I surprised ? No because once you look at it, all the young stars on our team, be it Hall, Eberle, Nuge, or even Yak, have won championships etc., throughout their hockey careers. Being stuck on a team, that they know is at least 3 years from sniffing a playoff spot is not going to do it for them...whether we like it or not...we might be rebuilding the rebuild.
Thank you Mr. Lowe...go frank yourself. |

The Edmonton Oilers closed out a winless five-game homestand with three losses last week. - Ryan Garner
Wouldn't a winless five-game homestand have five straight losses? |

Hall wanting a trade? No sh*t. Who doesn't? It doesn't take a reliable source to come up with that. If he had teammates that competed every game, he would have some patience. Hall leads by example and the other players don't follow. Pathetic.
You can tell Hall believed in Mgmt by signing his current contract. But, he and others have seen zero forward progress.
MacT can't control the compete level of the players. Coach can only do so much. When the puck is dropped, work your ass off and follow the instructions given.
Look at the 2006 Oilers, many say they had no chance in the playoffs, and yet...
Those guys followed MacT's coaching and competed and the results spoke for themselves.
At this point, I can only suggest shock collars for the players that continually neglect to back-check and not compete when they don't have the puck. They stand around and let the opposition dictate the play.
And for the fans that pay to go to the games, might as well spend your hard earned dollars on other entertainment because some of these players don't have your passion. Watching this team is like tuning into a tv program that gets cancelled after 4 or 5 episodes. |
