I realize that and 11-11-5 record isn't ideal, but considering injuries, moves and divisional teams that improved, why was he made the scapegoat?

Would be nice to see a new GM and a Richardson come in and take over - how about Brent Sutter, Luke Richardsson - I'm not a big Bylsma fan, he seemed to not be able to settle his team down when they needed it

It was coming regardless of last night's outcome. Three days off for new coach to prepare.

I don't think this is a bod or good move. I'm kind of indifferent. I just don't know how much more people can expect from this roster. We are in a rebuild. Winning the Stanley Cup this year or next is a fantasy and making the playoffs in the meantime are just a bonus and not a reflective on how good this team is, but rather how bad the Eastern Conference is.

I hope their is a bigger plan in place. I think we need a new GM brought in ASAP who will take over for Bryan Murray and he can help hire a coach. I also think a GM and coach should be brought from outside the organization. We have never faired well "promoting" guys. It also might help to bring in guys who haven't just looked at Senators hockey all year. It's important to realize their are 29 other teams trying to be successful too. Sometimes you need that dash of reality brought in to realize where your franchise actually is.

It's a meh move in my book. I don't think it will help at all in the short term, but if done correctly, could be a good move. My gut though is that we will be firing and hiring coaches again in a year or two. Hard to get the right coach for a team in a transitioning rebuild.

It has been a wildly inconsistent team, not only game to game but in game as well. Swings like that come down to coaching, getting it out of the players more often. Also questions of player deployment have dogged him for a season and a half now.

agreed... Not much a coach can do with a poopty owner... TBH Ottawa deserves a guy like Katz... The senators have a decent organization- just a cheap owner...

Second hand information - but that Ray Shero has been around the city quite a bit lately, and Bylsma was his coach in PIT. Shero was essentially fired because he stood behind Bylsma and wouldn't fire him.

That would mean Richardson would be stuck in Bingo and might eventually leave the organization if he doesn't see a fit in the near future.
