Uh oh, things are gonna get ugly in here.
Hansen with the Sedins and Bonino, Burrows and Vrbata together.
I'm surprised WD didn't just swap Vrbata for Burrows, as many here would have liked to see. |

Glad that Corrado's not being called up again just to sit in the press box, let him play 20+ minutes in Utica. I've been reading that Sanguinetti is Utica's best d-man. I really would like to see him get the call instead and give him a shot over Weber.
2006 1st rounder, 26 years old, 6'2", very good skater and a PMD. Also shoot right and had very good possession numbers during his last season with Carolina. |

Never understood Hansen with the Sedins
If you want to move Vrbata around then move burrows back up with the sedins.

I believe there was some research done behind why every coach here always gives Hansen a shot with the Sedins. He has the most goals/points with them per 60 minutes than other linemates they've had in the past. It doesn't look pretty since all 3 do get pushed around by bigger d-men, but if they produce it's hard to argue it. Hansen seems to get a ton of scoring chances when he's out there with them, he's not the best at finishing but he creates so many chances that he doesn't need to be the best finisher.
With the way the team has been playing lately, it's time for a shakeup IMO. |

I would rather see Andersson or Sanguinetti called up but gotta trust in Benning. Maybe he thinks he has the next Krug in Biega but of what I've seen of Biega, he didn't look that impressive.

Nice to see bonino, a distributer with a shooter like Vrbata. But if you're going to try and get the twins going how about you try to rekindle some magic with burr instead of putting janik Hansen there. MAKES ME SO FUKKING MAD |

Anderrsson has been pretty "meh" this year, has he not? By "meh", I mean not standing out and forcing a call-up with his play. Totally agree on Sanguinetti. He could potentially be the guy everyone keeps hoping Weber is. A bottom pairing PMD that can play on the PP. |

Ya I don't mind Hansen with the Sedins but wouldn't mind seeing Vey or Kassian get a look as well.
I like trying Vrbata with Bonino and give Horvat some more offensive teammates.
Sedin Sedin Hansen
Matthias Bonino Vrbata
Higgins Horvat Burrows
Dorsett Richardson Vey |

Andersson is just really steady, he doesn't have the offensive talent of some of the other guys but most games I have watched I come away thinking he looks like he could make the big show as a steady 5-6 guy. Just my opinion though, its hard not to trust Benning. |

It is balanced and a real shakeup in the bottom 9.
Both pp's need a little shakeup too... When the 1st unit isn't scoring, then I don't see the need for them to be out there for over a minute unless it is all offensive zone.
What about Dorsett on the 1st unit pp as a net front presence? Distract the pk and stir it up a bit? |

I'd like to see Richardson & Matthias kept together. I don't care what line they're on just let them play together. |

Let them play, let them play!
I just want some sort of shakeup. You are right though, they were playing well together and Matthias was really bringing it before his injury.
Whenever we talk about shakeups it is because we are having trouble scoring and while it is nice to have our little bit of improved depth, it becomes painfully clear we need finishers.
I would like to see Jensen up in the top 6, but he still needs some development and that is prolly best done on the farm.
I do like the idea of Vrbata with Bonino for even strength at least to see if there is any chemistry. |

Sedins play a puck possession game, but they need to get the puck to do that and Hansen is one of the better skaters and checkers/puck retrievers on the canucks. I think it's a good fit. If Vrbata can give the 2nd line some punch then i really like the switch. Gives our lineup a lot more balance. |

Sounds almost like, don't argue with the village idiot.
How many righties or other choices do we have to play with the Sedins? I still would rather see someone else get a look there. |

I wouldn't put much weight to those numbers if most of those points came when Daniel was actually scoring; they wouldn't be indicative of the potential on that line now. |

Interesting quote from Matthias on the lack of suspension from the Riberio Elbow. I wonder how often players/teams ask for explanations on non penalty/suspensions.
It would be really cool if the league had a process where if a player/team asks for an explanation, they have to announce it publicly. It would go a long way in showing how the league makes decisions.
"
HELLO NHL, ANYONE THERE?: After taking the morning skate, Canuck winger Shawn Matthias sat out a second straight game since absorbing an elbow to the head from Toronto Maple Leaf defenceman Stephane Robidas on Saturday. Matthias is unhappy the NHL took no action against Robidas, who received only a minor penalty on a play late in the second period.
But at least the Canuck has heard from Robidas.
“We asked the league if we could have an explanation and they have yet to tell us anything,” Matthias said. “So that’s a little disappointing. But at the end of the day, I’ve got to respect what the league says.
“Robidas did text me and we exchanged a few text messages, so I respect that and appreciate that from him.”
