Aside from his rookie yr, Huberdeau has been weak.

Is coaching system the problem?

You think barkov is plagued by injuries, see beau Bennett. But seriously, I think barkov will get back to form. Let the team around him mature a little bit as well.

It's hard to criticize his defensive game when Barkov has the lowest offensive zone starts and one of the highest defensive zone starts.

Needs to score more for sure though.

As much as I'd like to see him rise, I see Huberdeau as attractive trade bait. To me he's too small, gets thrown around easily, can be injury prone, and has lost his scoring niche. He can be a good playmaker at times, but now is the time to package him with a prospect and upgrade this team with a respectable scorer.

As far as Barkov, his future is here. He's much stronger than Huberdeau, and even though he's not bulky either, he doesn't seem to get tossed around like Huberdeau. He may even have nagging type injuries we're not privy to.

I'd like Huberdeau to improve quickly, but the old line applies, " you have to give to get" and I think this franchise has enough young pieces to roll the dice a make a deal and upgrade for a decent proven scorer. Do it.

Picking in the top 5 year after year should stock the cupboard nicely.

Now you better hope DT manages those assets well and doesn't Oiler up your team.

Last I checked we are fighting for a playoff spot, and the oilers are at the bottom of the league. Plus we aren't to far removed from the playoffs before the almost back to back last place finishes, where our line ups for devastated with injuries. I would say we are far from being the oilers.

And just saying our cupboard were pretty poopty until Tallon took over!

I wasn't comparing your team to the Oilers. You guys are in much better shape. But the 2 teams have the leagues highest average draft positions over the last 5 years.

I only mentioned them as a worst-case scenario as far as managing young players.

DT has built a nice group there around your kids, and has the flexibility to either keep all of the young guys or trade 1 or 2 for immediate help.

Your team looks good. It's too bad nobody seems to care.

We're talking about Huberdeau and Barkov like they've been in the league for 10 years already. Jesus you guys are insane to entertain any sort of trade involving Huberdeau or Barkov. Holy shyt. Young players don't hit slumps? Is that what we're saying here? And who are you going to trade them for? You don't think Huby has been playing better lately? Or I suppose it only counts if he's scoring, which is crap. Thank God no one here runs a professional sports team.

I don't know what it is about you. You can disagree with someone without verbally dressing someone down. Are you like 12 or something. In any case, you are wrong concerning Huberdeau. One more season like this, and he is an also-ran.

I was trying to like... be silly. Guess it didn't translate. And I'm 26. A father of two, a home owner, going to school for my Master's Degree, and, occasionally, silly. So calm down... shyt!

In any case, I said earlier this season that if there was one prospect I would dabble with trading, it's Huberdeau. However, I think he really has played much better and once he gets a winger with him who can also play the game, he should produce. Barkov is 19, his scoring will come.

Barkov will come around. I wouldn't mind seeing him play with Bjugstad a couple shifts a night. I'm more worried about Pirri, who hasn't been the same after the concussion. The guy was on a tear before the concussion, hasn't done much since coming back. It sucks these guys are inconsistent, but you tend to have that with a young core.

Harvey, you still want Phaneuf? Guy got burned how many times? He also turned the puck over on the Hayes goal. No thanks.

Just caught the third period, nice win.

Campbell is toast. How many more years are you guys stuck with that contract? Do you have any buy outs left?

Campbell actually, to me, played really well on the defensive side of things. And one more after this year; and yes we have a buy out left.

Yes rough game but I'm still a big fan. Everyone has a bad game. He's much better than kulikov, the turnover machine

Didn't like Kuli all around tonight, but when it mattered he showed up tonight. We lose without Kuli. Phaneuf is nothing more than a big traffic cone. Every Leaf fan will tell you the same.

Phaneuf sucks. He signed a big deal, got lazy. Simple as that. No character.

Compliance buyouts are done.
They were only for 2013 and 2014

They could still buyout Campbell, but would take a cap-hit. They have the space to do it though.
