Just saying... Looking at the actual lineup first thing in the morning makes it even more scary.

The most annoying part is the guys they signed off the scrap heap are now the number 1 pair. Maybe it is the best part. Hell I do not know anymore with this squad.

It just means that none of them are really all that fantastic. At least Streit is doing exactly what he was expected to do, and isn't all that much worse defensively than the rest of the team.

True. Streit is really the only one you get what you paid for consistently. Schultz has been a pleasant surprise as well.

I will admit that watching MDZ, Schultz and Coliacovo will be less annoying. My tolerance for futility is higher for them due to only watching them for half a season.

It just means that none of them are really all that fantastic. At least Streit is doing exactly what he was expected to do, and isn't all that much worse defensively than the rest of the team.

True. Streit is really the only one you get what you paid for consistently. Schultz has been a pleasant surprise as well.

They probably will. Sadly, it won't offset the extra pucks that wind up in the back of the net due to their defensive "capabilities." Not that it should make much of a difference.

Yes.. the top 6 now consists of 3 guys we got off the scrap heap.
1 over paid guy who we traded a 2nd round pick to acquire.
1 over aged guy who is playing well and doing what is expected
1 guy who is the definition of overpayment for underachievement.

Also, it was posted on the last blog, but Cedric Paquette thought it was a good idea to get tough with Zdeno Chara. After that, he decided to get tough with Chara at the end of the game, as well. Poor poophead.

They've given up 74 5 on 5 goals, for reference, the team ranked 5th, Pittsburgh, has given up 67 goals against 5 on 5. The problem is the atrocious PK, where the Flyers have given up 36 4 on 5 goals. In comparison, the Flyers have given up 3 times as many 4 on 5 goals as the league leader Chicago has.

And I am arguing that more minutes to MDZ and Coliacovo will increase the amount of 5 on 5 goals allowed because they are not as good defensively as Grossmann and Coburn.

It could be both, but it was meant for Schenn. A young promising winger who is actually producing is what it cost for us to get a healthy scratch /6th Dman.

The worst part is how incredibly biased the announcers are there. In the first altercation, Chara hits Paquette in the face and it's all well and good and deserved. In the 2nd altercation, Paquette takes a shot at Chara in the face and the comment is "what is that!!!". Embarrassing.
