Only played 4 in the last 11 days. Really light schedule before the big road trip apparently.

The first goal was all on Mrazek, the rest was the whole teams lazy approach to playing a professional hockey game.

Heard something that right before the Kane deal there was an offer from buffalo for Myers and we'd give Mantha and Larkin.... Thoughts? IMO that's too tough to swallow. Wings have no players in their prime. When Nyquist and Tatar get in their prime and pav and z leave we will need these kids coming up. Without them we wont have much

It seems like alot but I think lots of wings fans have high expectations of Mantha and Larkin. Both might not even pan out, Mantha ain't exactly tearing up the AHL yet, I know he's young and started behind the eight ball but I expected more by now anyways. It's even harder to judge where Larkin is at before he turns pro.

Myers is often compared to Chara. Myers has been better in his first 6 years than Chara was. Chara never really started to stand out until he played on a good Ottawa team.

So lets say Myers turns out to be close to Chara and Mantha and Larkin turn out to be a Franzen / Draper level, that would be a steal for the Wings making a trade like that.

What would it cost to rent Jagr and Zidlicky for a couple of months? A couple of roster players under contract for at least another year (or set to be RFAs) and a conditional 2nd round pick? Something in that neighborhood? I mean, Jagr alone went for a pair of long-shot prospects and a conditional 2nd two years ago, and he was a better player then.

If so, that would look pretty tempting to me. Devils are out of the race, older than dust, and are probably going to need bodies for next year. Wings need some upgrades for a playoff run and need to clear out some space for Pulkkinen, Ouellet, any potential FA targets, etc. next year. I could be misjudging the situation form the Devils' perspective, but at first glance it seems like there might be a fit there.

I'd like it if we could aquire both and find a way for them to accept Kindl (maybe even Ericsson) in the trade. But we'd probably have to send them something decent for this to happen. Jurco maybe? I don't want to give Jurco but I'm not sure where he fits next year. Pulk can easily take is place.

I think its a decent year for free agent defensemen and I would give it a shot in the off season. I have a hard time trading all our top prospects...even if they are only potential at this point. If we trade them what happens when Z and Pav retire? We have no players in their prime we would have very few prospects if we traded mantha and larkin
