The fact that in this entire blog you did NOT use the word "McEichel" gives me an entire new respect for you.

To be a bust one of these things need to happen.

1) Injury that threatens career
2) Ego that overtakes talent
3) Developed by Edmonton or Edmonton like system.

Three is probably the worst thing to happen to a young career, but I suppose number 1 could be just as bad...

How good this prospect pool may or may not be is irrelevant. They need a player worth building a franchise around, and it's worth the risk.

I like the prospect pool they have, but without a guy like McDavid or Eichel, this team projects to be a good one, not a great one. And anything short of the latter should be, and is, unacceptable.

As the Erie Otters have somewhat proved a bit is that terrible goaltending is the only way Conor isnt a cup winning superstar.

You forgot Zadorov as possible 1st rounder playing for Sabres next year (if he does not get traded of course, but same could be said about Grigorenko).

Only the organization can blow the kids development. Not sure Murray would let that happen believe me.

Oilers are not a good developement team. Good thing Hall, Eberle and RNH were very talented.

McDavid will be good nontheless because he's Canadian and will practice and train with NHL players during summer. You'll be fine lucky bastards

Who is the last 'generational' player who was a bust? Lindros? Even he was dominant for a good stretch of time.

to your point, I went strictly skaters in the blog, but in net there's ullmark, who's headed to north America next year, and Peterson in the pipeline...I wouldn't discount Makarov either...not to mention lindback, Hackett and neuvirth all somehow rose above the mess that was in front of them
