RNH is not playing for Edmonton again tonight. It's not only bad for Edmonton but also for my hockey pool.

Would be nice to have the Flames in the first round and sweep them. Relax a bit and get healthy before the real test begins.

From an entertainment value I think that'd be a good first round series.

Twas just before the game,
I was feeling some stress
With the Flames points behind us
And the Kings just one less
With a ‘one win’ exception
Our series’d gone south
Again I was reminded,
From Dan Murphys mouth
The puck dropped at center!
Poor defense, LA goal!
As the Canucks grabbed their shovels,
And jumped in a hole!
But wait, the pace quickened
A Vancouver spark?
Just like San Jose, would the Kings
Jump the shark?
Burrows with a big hit, Kenins
With a few
A ‘too many men penalty’
And Radim sat for two.
I got up for the bathroom, a key nearly missed!
As Henrik just got his
Seven hundredth assist!
I fretted and stressed, with sweat on my brow
We might win this game,
But just where, when and how?
But then came the shootout,
Each team had missed twice.
Then “Sorry, LA, but there goes your home ice”

Yep. Kings games are intense but boring. They have 5-6 players I despise, don't think my family could handle a Canucks vs Kings series. I was watching the game last week with my 3 week old son ... talk about patience holding a crying baby and watching an intense hockey game.

I think a few of their players have lost a step. Brown getting pushed off the puck by Tanev is a thing of beauty!

Per a twitter post, The Canucks would clinch a playoff today if any of the following occurred:

1) Kings lose in regulation
2) Kings lose in OT or SO and CGY lose in regulation
3) Kings lose in OT or SO and CGY lose in regulation or OT and the Jets lose in regulation
4) Both CGY and WPG lose in regulation

Considering that LA are playing EDM and CGY are playing ARI I'm not holding my breath.

I was telling someone the other day, if we draw LA in the 1st round, I'm out. Can't (nor do I want to) watch us disintegrate one more time at the hands of the Kings. After last night, I'm not totally convinced that would happen. I'm not sure we could beat them, but it wouldn't be a sweep.
