I think Bieksa is the most exciting player, you literally don't know whats going to happen when hes on the ice.

As for our Canucks, there's still work to be done. The Canucks are now assured of second or third spot in the Pacific Division, but the Flames are just two points back—and the teams are currently tied in regulation/overtime wins. If Calgary wins one more game than Vancouver to close out the schedule, the Flames can still bump the Canucks down into third place and grab home-ice advantage.

Judging from our regular season, I like our chances just as much (if not more) without home ice advantage, but either way, I'll take it!
Such a good vibe in these threads the last couple days. Smiling ear to ear the past 48 hours.
Keep up the good work, Carol.

I would have to agree with your votes with player awards... It's hard not to give burrows something cuz the guy has worked his ass off every night and battled back to be a pain in the ass and scoring goals, but dorsett has just brought something to this team that's been missing for years..

From the last thread:

It just shouldn't be the case though when you have the likes of Carter Kopitar Richards Williams Brown Toffoli who should be pretty solid. Of those players though the only one that I think has the whole package of work ethic, skill and consistency (outside Toffoli who is too young to judge) is Kopitar.

That's the thing, solid, not spectacular. They forecheck harder than everyone else and they have just enough talent/skill to take advantage of turnovers/giveaways. This is why I say they're reminiscent of NJ in the hey day of the dead puck era (minus Stevens and the clutch and grabbing) with how they clog up the ice with big bodies/positioning and forecheck harder than every other team. It also helps that Doughty can do most of the same things Neidemeyer could in his prime and that Quick is Brodeur-esque in his ability to stop the puck.

Here's a few awards I've just made up, and the appropriate award winners.

Best Fisty Demarco Award (for sticking up for oneself) goes to Henrik Sedin, for punching TJ Oshie in the face. Maybe it was Daniel. Whatever, same thing-I liked it.

Best Hattie Madhatterson Award for Jannik Hansen! Nobody saw that coming, you rule!

Best AntiKesler Award: Split tie: Bonino for SO winner, but Vrbata for wearing the number better.

Hank gave his 700th assist puck to a make-a-wish kid who was practicing with the Canucks today. It's not really surprising, given Hank's history, but still pretty cool.

The thing about the Canucks this year is there is not really someone you can make fun of and be he likes the MVP as a joke like previous years ( ex) hordichuk, weise, aaron rome, fitzpatrik ect). I thought everyone contributed to their maximum abilities.

What I'm saying is that they should be better up front than they are. The fact that they aren't is not so much an indictment of player personnel but lack of team character during the regular season. Now that Dustin Brown and Mike Richards have fallen as far as they have I think we are finally seeing the repercussions of that attitude issue

All the final player rankings have been released and most of the guys I wanted climbed up the charts. Surprised Bittner fell 7 spots.

I like all of your choices Carol but my own were:
MVP: Daniel - leading point scorer and having a phenomenal bounce back year
Best D-man: I would call this close to a draw but I chose Tanev though I think you are probably right
Most Exciting: I wanted to choose Bo but I went with Vrbata
Unsung: I went with Hansen but Dorsett has probably had a better season relative to his skill level, it just seems like he has not necessarily been unsung in that there has been a lot of praise for his play

Seems almost too much for a 4th liner but he does have 25 points this season.
