It's not even about being angry. I was as pro-tank as anybody, but after the Arizona game (here), and the whole shenanigans that ensued, it was abundantly clear this season just needed to end, last place or no last place. |

Are you trying to or currently writing for any other medium? You could probably publish some stuff freelance if you wanted.
Good work! I still frequent this site during the summer, maybe there will actually be something t read this year.
I could be so relieved this season is over but I really don't see next year being much better. |

as for next year?
that last game, for me, showed just how far the Sabres need to go just to challenge for a playoff spot |

Michael-
The great irony of this year for those of us who frequent this site is that we had to look so hard for moments to be proud of on the ice. The talent there was very limited, and used sparingly. By contrast, here in these pages, we got a regular - almost daily - dose of really high quality stuff. Well written, informative, and meaningful content time after time after time. A firehose!
Thanks for your efforts, sincerely, and for giving us knuckleheads something to look forward to

We still have to be patient for all this young talent to continue to develop.
Probably have a couple more years of missing the playoffs before we see them take off. Now that McEichel is in the fold, will be much more enjoyable.
Already enjoying and looking forward to the lottery. Never felt better with "20 percent odds"
Who knows, maybe Sabres win next years lottery and land Auston Matthews to compliment McEichel
Just kidding...sort of

We may very well finish in the bottom 5 or 6 or we could pull a panthers and show vast improvement, either way we should have a lottery ball for next years draft so you never know |

Good stuff Michael. And i mimic what others have said here, thanks for saving the sabres page from falliing off a cliff with poor spelling, grammar and rhyming players names with songs by crappy canadian bands no one outside of WNY/Southern Ontario have ever heard of.
We should turn it around next year. Not playoff turn it around, but at least not 30th. |

I'm guessing we are around 70pts next year
All that young talent will play inconsistently, and with a big roster turnover likely & possible new coach, there could also be some chemistry issues.
70pts puts us picking 5th next year
Even if we great to 80pts like some suggest (which would be a HUGE leap), we'd still pick 7th going by this year's standings
Point is, we're most likely picking top10 next year, and quite possibly top5
These kids still have a lot of growing up to do

Nice work as always, Michael. As for Ted Nolan, I didn't mind him very much aside from his anti-tank efforts. If they do let him go, my main problem would be the future of Arturs Irbe. This guy has been an excellent "upgrade" over Corsi and I am very much convinced he has a large role in the uprising of Neuvirth, Enroth and most recently, Anders Lindback. I really hope he would be willing to stay in the event of Nolan being fired. |

Agree. Did u watch Eichel the past couple games?
I'll be happy with either of these guys
Our centers are 100% set IMO for the next 15years!
In all seriousness,
Within as little as 3years we could have one of the top groups of centers in the whole league
Plus, the defense should be pretty dominant by then as well
Nice way to build a team |

Everyone had to see that coming, but...
San Jose, Boston, LA...
Will GM &/or coaching moves be made there?
Prob not LA, but quite possibly the other 2 |
