Bill Meltzer: Berube Fired: Who Will be Hired?

IMO this team did under achieve. I know it wasn't a Cup contender, but those losses against the bottom feeders definitely put Berube in a hole.

Bill, what do you think will happen in LA with Sutter? And do you think there is a chance Hextall would talk to him about the job should he be fired?

Tippett would be the only ex-Flyer I would want considered. I want an outside eye that has no past history with the orange and black. I want someone new and fresh to the organization.

I refuse to accept the hiring of Todd McClellan. Bill you're right on the money, he's been the coach of the Sharks since '09, and they've done diddly squat.

What are some thoughts on Mark Morris or Jeff Blashill as some AHL coaching candidates.

So we can only hire coaches who have won Cups recently? That didn't get us a Cup with Hitch or Lavi.

McClellan did get them into the playoffs every season but this one, and to the Conference Finals once. And didn't get a lot of help from his goalies in the playoffs.

ok, i don't wan julien either. i don't want a bunch of those guys. at the same time, i don't want a retread.

i'm not enamored with the mon chi chi, but i'd take him i guess. i like tippett. i like babcock. those are my two veterans that i'd like the most. i don't see hextall going with a young, inexperienced coach or a retread. just a guess though.
