Well, good for Buffalo that Eichel said that. He surely couldn't have been impressed with the GM's comments when the lottery results came in.
We Oiler Fans are pretty stoked to be getting McDavid. These guys won't be seeing much of each other being in different conferences but it will be very interesting whenever they do meet.

I'm kinda pumped they ended up in different conferences. They'll only see each other twice a year in the regular season but imagine how good of a cup final it could be if they met.

Ya but just think of the possibilities for the 2022 season. Mcdavid and eichel lead their countries to the gold medal game of the Olympics and then they meet again in the Cup final.

I mean it will make te times they do meet even more special. The caps and pens play five times a year and I don't think it's a big deal when they do meet anymore. Every hockey fan is going to tune into the two mceichel games a year. And if they ever end up in the cup final against each other that would be one of the more anticipated finals for fans that don't cheer for either of the teams

However, I believe NHL would have been much happier to see McDavid go to a Eastern team, just to showcase him, not to bury him somewhere in nowhere land, and with a huge time zone difference!
So, I am looking at all different logistics of it!

Good to see the boy has confidence. How long between now and the start of the season do Sabres fans believe they have the better player? My guess is we'll start seeing it posted today, and it will heat up on draft day, and you will all be convinced by July.

I think you might be giving up to much. Nash will be 31 going into next season and will be 35 in the last year of his contract of 7.8 mill a season. You'd be giving the Rangers 3+ mill in cap relief. Maybe you could save one of the picks and add an average prospect? That's just my opinion

Interesting to see what this does to the Kesel ' sweepstakes'. I'm sure plenty of teams prefer Nash and his contract to Fat Phils, and for those who don't , they might look at it an option if TO's ask is too high.

nah...don't think it'll be like that...pretty sure everyone here's pretty much in agreement that the two are incredible players, just play different styles
