O'rielly would be a mistake, to me it would be a sign that they're trying to rush the rebuild. Just stick to the plan and build from the ground up, players like this will always be available when the proper time comes to acquire them.

O'Reilly is only 23 and would be a solid two-way, second line centre for the Leafs. Young enough to fit in with the rebuild and can also play LW. 7 Million a year is way too much though and I wouldn't be trading assets for him with only a year remaining on his contract. Wait until he becomes a UFA at 24 and sign him ONLY if he accepts a reasonable deal. If not then screw him. 6 Mill/6 years max...

7 million a year for multi years is what scoring forwards get, he's a 5 per at most right now. On TO maybe he could get the offence going more, but until he proves it no thanks. His attitude of thinking he's already worth it when he hasn't shown it means he's another entitled player, not remotely what the club needs right now...
