I thought this was a pretty sad draft for Buffalo! I like the Kane and O'rielly deal but to trade the 31st to Ottawa had to be the dumbest move I had every seen at this years draft. Buffalo could have traded the 31st for Cam Talbot the better of the 2 goalies and would NOT have had to take on Legwound as I call him and his 3M cap hit doing Ottawa a huge favor!!! Something smells awfully fishy here!!!

Pick 21 went to Ottawa. 31 went to Colorado. And Murray wanted the younger goalie that he knew and scouted.

As a Ranger fan you should know the defensive system the Rangers play. It benefits every goalie that plays for them.

You can say it smells fishy, I can say Lehner is the type (age, size, contract) that Murray wanted. BTW I didn't like giving up the first, just giving some perspective.

Not to mention that Lehner is here for at minimum 2 years and is still an RFA at the end of his current deal. Most of the other guys could leave at the end of this year if they wanted.

Yup. I'm pretty sure they already have something worked out. Just can't actually sign it and announce it yet because it's not July 1st.
