Noel Fogelman: The Franchise Frauds - Noel Fogelman
Nice job Noel. Good blog though I will say Maloney was arguably worse than Milbury. He was the beginning of the tail spin. Dismantling that team and removing Turgeon from it (especially with what the return was even if Muller were a good sport it was horribly lop sided)was worse than or equal too most of what Milbury did during his tenure.
There wasn't an Islander fan shedding a tear with his departure unfortunately for us all we had not the faintest idea as to what was in store. What a horrible 15 year period. Islander fans deserve an award for what they endured. |

Wow Noel, you've really come to the right place.
I think Don Maloney should receive an honorable mention as Number 4A.
There's a lesson: Don't EVER hire a GM that played (the majority) of his career with one of the Isles all-time most hated rivals. |

Rangers Fraud 4 is too vast a # of players to choose, but I'll say Phil Esposito, Theo Fleury, Bobby Holik & Guy Lafleur...NOT the player really, but it was sad & just wrong to see the Flower years after he retired out of shape & wearing any jersey other than a Hab one. |

The funniest thing about it is that ugly thing was the top selling jersey for two years straight I believe. - Cptmjl
Is that a Vukota jersey? |

That's Mick Vukota's #. Or Bailey's, though he was in diapers when that atrocity debuted. |

Ironically, John Spano is one of the best owners this team has ever had. The Milstein/Gluckstern scoundrels were even worse.
Sticking with players:
Kirk Muller - You said it.
Oleg Kvasha - never seen a player do less with more than him
Marty Reasoner - Barf
Rick "Red Light" DiPietro - terrible #1 overall pick (not his fault); never was as good as some seem to remember him as being; became a weightlifting nut (the last thing a goalie should be doing to train) and hung on way too long (entirely his fault).
Franchise 4 - Post-Dynasty Era
Pat LaFontaine
Pierre Turgeon
Ziggy Palffy
John Tavares
(actually, that was kind of easy, too).

He was great. One of the few players that'd at times make me crack up when i watched him play. Not even referring to his actual hockey skills being funny(which they were). He was such an annoying pain in the ass to play against for a lot of players. |

I finally see why bailey often seems distracted. Did you see his wife's cans? I guess he can score when it counts after all. On a serious note, cool article! |

I was at the game when him and baumgartner jumped the rangers at the buzzer and after he hammered Jansens I think it was, he put on a painters hat that was thrown on the ice! It was priceless. My train ride home with my dad was scary, I thought I was going to get smacked. |

Noel, maybe youre a big fraud. You committed an Islanders sin. Bryan is spelled with a "y" not an "i". Please dont let this happen again!!! |

In fairness to DP, which I didn't like him, the pick, the trade, etc, he was slowly becoming an allstar/elite G before his meltdown.....

Kris King was the guy Bomber got, Vukota pounded on Jeff "punching bag" Bloemberg. |

I believe at the time of the 2006 Olympics, the U.S goalies were ranked: 1. DP; 2. Miller; 3. Quick. |
