Unless his skills improved over the summer, very little. The days of the dedicated fighter are essentially over. Not that Bollig or Engellend are shining examples but at least they can hold a roster spot for more than fisticuffs...

With McGrattan and Scott in the division I can see why we are keeping him.

With guys like John Scott and McGratten in the Pacific division this season, aligned with MacLellan's use of enforcers I wouldn't be surprised to see Gazdic get a bit more playing time this season.

McLellan always played Scott last year & made our 4th line worthless inthe process.

I love how the media is making this guy seem like the most loyal guy to walk the earth right after he just up and left the Devils for more money

The other aspect is no team will put John Scott out against Connor McDavid's line unless they want to get scored on all game

I like Gazdic- alothough the role has diminished - there is possibly a place for him should he get faster- its too bad there is so little fighting now as he was one of the leagues better fighters for sure... I for 1 liked the scraps in games...

What do you mean "always" played him? He played in 38 games... less than half the season...

It's hard to quantify how much a big fight changes momentum in a game when it rarely happens properly. Guys try to do it, but often it ends up being wrong timing, or the team was already emotionally in the game. Guys like Gazdic will see their team down by 2 goals, think "this is what I'm here for!" jump over the boards and fight the first person willing.

38 games was too much....when Scott could only give you at best 8min of ice time, he just made our 4th line worthless that's all. We were pretty much a 3 line team when he dressed.

I think the stats are against the impact of a goon. However you listen to how players talk and they sure like to have that guy on the bench. Hall has talked about how it made him play bigger at times.

Simply put the day Gazdic is gone is the day that the players start playing as a team and standing up for each other. It's not just about fighting, but get dirty after the whistle for (frank) sakes. When you play like a limp Richard wiener, teams will just keep pushing you and get you off your game. Not that we had much of a game anyway last year.

I know everyone is all happy about new coach and players and that we played better under Nelson, but we still played like limp Richard wieners with Nelson. He called the team out a few times, telling them it's 60 minutes, that they need to battle. This needs to change. If it doesn't Gazdic or whoever will have a job here.

I have a better chance at having a threesome with Elisha Cuthbert and Julianne Hough.

Now if we trade for Laich and Phaneuf, maybe I have a shot.

I think Phanoof would be great if we could send Ference back the other way.

I'm indifferent on him. I just want his wife.

I thought you were more of a Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson type of guy.
