Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Coach Willie Desjardins Sidelined After Hip Surgery With just one day before the Vancouver Canucks prospects gather in Penticton for their first practice before the Young Stars tournament, the team announced on Wednesday that coach Willie Desjardins will be sidelined until opening night after undergoing hip surgery.

I'd rather them healthy for camp than pushed for this series. Fingers are crossed for both though.

This. I think the Jets will be the CDN powerhouse by 2019-20. I still think te Nucks are in a better position than EDM-CAL-TOR but not by much and it is changing rapidly. MTL is still in a preetty good position to succeed. Calgary will regress a bit as VAN should. Prob by 5-6 pts easily in the standings. Calgary still has a real lack of depth scoring and as good as the D and the youngsters are...I don't think they have the consistency yet to play above all those 3rd period comebacks...yet.
- LordHumungous

I think the jets just need to solidify their future starting goalie position and for their young D to push big buff to a lesser role and they will be a stud team

I'm thinking that having every d man in your top 4 as 40+ points guys and adding Bennett, frolik, and colborne's continual development should help the lack of depth scoring ...your right tho I don't see them having all those crazy comebacks in the third ...but I also dont see them trailing as much either so that can just even out

I think Dallas and SJ are a little too low and I think Minnesota and Vancouver might be a bit too high. Your second list doesnt look too far off though.

Minnesota finished so strong last year- some of it was Dubnyk, otherwise they finished really well.

Botch can go on about this being the least anticipated season in years, but I know I`m looking forward to it all the same.

Looks very accurate, though i'd have Vancouver ahead of CGY in final standings as we are still a solid regular season team. Though not a good playoff team yet. I also think CGY will be this years Colorado as i doubt they get as many wins in the 3rd as they did last year.

I might swap St.Louis and Nashville, but I think it is so up for close 4-12. I am not sure how improved the Oilers are or how bad the Avs are?

Expecting some good hockey if everyone has improved.

You like Dallas over Van eh?

Dallas 41 31 10 92points 37RoW 261GF 260GA
Vancouver 48 29 5 101points 42Row 242GF 222GA

Has Dallas improved that much? Goaltending is blah (Neimi?) Klingberg is awesome but the rest of the D? Is Sharp going to be a big factor?

Sharp will help improve scoring, plus a healthy Seguin means they will outscore most teams during games and win that way.

Here I have been female doging for months that JB isn't doing enough to tank (thinking they will make the playoffs) and most of you have the canucks getting a good pick next draft.

I'm feeling much better about this coming season.

Yeah, I am a homer, I know it. But it is the offseason and they haven't lost a game yet, so I got to be optomistic.

I couldn't justify Ana coming out on top like most of the other posters. There are just too many sloppy seconds starting to show up there
