Some new blood in the Canucks player development department.

Scott Walker won the OHL championship with Guelph 2 years ago, and he was the assistant coach for last years world junior team.

Now they just need to get rid of Delorme

Count on Gaunce and Kenins going down.
Likely will waive Cracknell and Biega with the expectation that they make it through.
I suspect they want Higgins on opening lineup (cap reasons) so Hutton will likely go down only to return when Higgins hits LTIR.
Buys them time to see if Vey manages to get his act together and how Mccann and Virt work out

I never took JV off the list of possible rookies making it this year.

He is the only Canuck that goes out and hits every shift. He creates chances, and his speed and power moves are exactly what we need. I would be shocked if he was sent down.

Hutton does make a few errors but he creates more chances than he gives up. He makes the team more dangerous.

I was thinking the same thing. There has been talk about sending guys to Jr in order to protect assets, but there are waiver eligible guys that can move up and down between leagues to create the chances for these kids to get in the regular season. I would be extremely disappointed if McCann and JV don't get all 9 games in (barring multiple poor showings)

At this point have to agree. He fills a need to be sure.

Pleasantly surprised with Bartkowski not just Hutton. Didn't realise Bartkowski skated that well and has a decen first pass. He can handle the heavy game of the west it appears as well.

Id like to see JV hutton Mcann all make it and ship out Vey. He talked about how he wasnt ready and he'd come earn a spot but has yet to even have a single good game while rookies are taking over the team.

and I agree with Vantel, JV comes out every shift and hits and busts his ass. Sorely needed. It's exactly what everyone complained about forever, now its here....keep him.

I think you should swap the 2nd and 3rd lines. Just so our 2nd line will be the shutdown line and 3rd line will be a scoring line, just to start the season.

I can see Hamhuis being dealt at some point, tdl or before...

We aren't really missing any vets that you did not list...

I really like McCann but I think he will be sent down this year to JR.

He certainly has done enough but I think playing with linemates of Hansen and Higgins or Prust and Dorsett would make him take a step back . If Bo JV and sVen can form a line and we push out some dead weight then next year McCann could step in and play with more skillful players

I got no problem with that and it did cross my mind . I think the difference in ice time would be about 2 minutes max so why not .

At this point I'm not sure Burrows is going to flourish or be effective still without being on the Sedin line which may strap us a bit. Weber is going to get an opportunity to continue his PP success so he won't be in the press box as of yet IMO. I still think they are gonna try Vey on the 4th line even though he hasn't earned it. I like that you moved Bartkowski to the top 4.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Baertchi/Higgins Sutter Vrbata
Hansen Horvat Virtanen
Prust Vey/McCann Dorsett

Cracknell-Gaunce-Higgins/baertchi? tough call

Edler Tanev
Hammer Bartkowski
Sbizza Weber

Hutton - Corrado has not impressed which is too bad.

For appearance sake, I think the club will say Sutter is 2nd line centre even though most may want Horvat listed that way. But with special teams, who knows how it will all spread out?

I keep on reminding myself that this is preseason. Damn Hutton looks so composed, like Tanev, will look steady no matter the importance of the game.

I wonder if Vrbata will be happy? There will be some juggling for sure.

Looking forward to see how JB handles everything.

He seems to score clutch goals though. Guess we won't know until the 9 games is up. The true test.

Why do you feel mcann will be sent down? There was no reasoning provided

Can't we just take Very back to the draft and trade him in? Or a mulligan?

I would also be disappointed not to see McCann and Virtanen get at least 9. Gaunce and Hutton will likely be up at some point even if they don't start the season with the Canucks.
