I don't think Sutter minds giving up second line centre to play first line wing
The noticeable difference with that line last night was they were getting rid of bad habits. They were shooting instead of the continuous passing.
They were both going to the net .
The D that Sutter brings was beautiful. |

You always hope that game one is an indication of things to come. It rarely happens that way , but I sure hope Hansen turns into a 25 goal scorer |

How many times did I say it last year?
Bieksa will not be missed.
Addition by subtraction.
This D-Core will move the puck much better and they won't get hemmed in so badly.

I know it's early... But it's sure nice to see some changes to the back end. |

I think having Burrows get on the board early will help his mindset this year a lot too. He started horrible last season after the injuries and never found his game. Even though the goal was mostly a fluke, it can't do anything but help confidence |

Not yet anyway.
It was nice to see a different sort of transition game from our defense.
Towards the end of the first period when they kept on trying stretch passes, almost hail marys? Wasn't sure if that was to counter a Calgary press, exploit a weakness or they wanted to change something up?
Anyway lots of puck movement.
Some on here have been wanting a different look or game from our defense. Bartkowski and Hutton sure give the club different options, and inject a bit more skill into the back end.
a good first game. |

He's a meat. I don't want him here.
Great for Cooch!
Sharks pee'd all over em.
And how does Brown get a free pass from league discipline every time?

I might be the only one but I am ok with McCann not getting an assist on it. I feel if the shot deflects off the other teams players skate, shin pad, body, etc then assist should be given. If it's off the stick of the player making a play on it then I think it the goal should be unassisted. Just my opinion. |

I’ve never been in favor of giving assists on own goals, but he did make a nice up to Burr. - Max.Betts
Plus he won't even get to keep that puck now(unless Burrows scooped it up for him just in case). |

I have been on that train since LA booted us handily in 2011.

Wad a fun game to watch, though I don't think the game was as one sided as the score would indicate, Ramo was pretty bad, Miller was pretty good, though I hated the Hudler goal in tight - got to keep your stick on the ice!
Good find Nucker, that's hilarious! So hope Lucic signs an extension in LA this year |
