Paul,
The media's job is to second guess those in authority, even when they are misinformed, lack actual knowledge, or are simply guessing. If they create controversy, more people watch, their ratings go up, they can ask more for advertising, which creates more revenue. Media desires chaos and controversy, just reporting died with Walter Cronkite! Ask a cop. |

Thanks Paul. As I have said many times, it's all about image, and not about quality commentary with the media. The NHL is as much guilty of this problem as any media outlet. Look at how many blonde, short skirt bimbos are actually getting screen time. The commentary is focused on the latest, and greatest catch phrases, and doesn't focus on what is going on on the ice. As mentioned on other Buzz pages, it's all about the entertainment business, and getting more "fans" interested in the game (ie. more money). I know that many true hockey fans are starting to tune out the NHL channel, and focus on other hockey resources. Next stop, VEGAS, and the WWE. I also can't wait to see the players bring their magic shows to the games; thanks NBA. |

Uh Paul, maybe he though the goal (where the goalies pad was pushed into the net) should have counted because very often that's how it is called by the Refs. If it was called correctly more often maybe there wouldn't be such confusion. |
