Another great column, Jen. It's funny, they really are all clicking as a team for the first time in recent memory. In fact, I can't remember the last time a *team* have all played this well together. Here's to hoping it lasts. The defeatist/realist in me is cautioning me that there will be injuries, that there will be downswings in this seemingly unstoppable momentum. Gotta admit, though...the ride sure is fun while it's lasting. Let's hope they can turn this into something more. |

Wow. Troll much? Haven't noticed that beyond Gallagher and Byron, we aren't so tiny anymore? |

Cheers, thanks!
I almost hate to say it but the last time that I can think back to, that the Canadiens were this well balanced and deep had to be 1992-1993... Muller,Damphousse, Bellows, Carbo, LeClaire, Savard, Lebeau, Brunet, Desjardins, Schneider, J.J, Odelein and a chap named Patrick Roy. |

Good read.
I thought, right at the time of the trade last year, that Petry was a nice addition to the team, considering he would be #3 on the habs depth chart (above Emelin).
Lots of my habs fan friends were skeptic about the acquisition.
Is Petry an amazing defenseman? no, but he is a pretty decent #3 and when you consider that this spot was filled by Emelin, and that they didn't have to give the moon for Petry, then you have to think that it was a good move.
On another note, Gilbert is a (frank)ing trainwreck. most of the times he touches the puck while the habs have possesion in the d-zone, a turnover occurs. |

Nice write-up. I appreciate the thoughtfulness.
The habs are setting themselves up nicely in the east. I really like the way the team has come together. The real benefit of rolling four lines and three d units will be felt in the playoffs if it transferred into a healthier and more rested team.
The healthiest team usually wins the cup the last several years it seems... |
