Thx Carol.

Maybe next time Daniel will just tap the bloody thing in instead of trying to showboat a roof job with the puck. Puck was twirling a bit so his stick got under it but still...no showboating Daniel...learned your lesson?

Thanks Carol! Early for sure, even over here on the east coast!

Carried over from the last thread:

I'm tired of the whole "Get Out And Vote" spiel, all the choices are bad. You have the party in power who's been in power for too long and has shown itself to be just as corrupt and power hungry as the previous government with a leader who parades his economic record around like it's some sort of trophy while people are losing their homes and jobs due to the job losses in the resource sector. On the other hand, you have a party that's traded the reins of power with the Conservatives with a leader who's advisors are all the same advisors that were involved in the Sponsorship scandal and who advised his father who was one of the most hated PMs in our history. Then we have the NDP, who couldn't manage a business let alone a country without taxing and spending it to death.

I refuse to vote until we as a country stop voting completely and change the system to where the popular vote actually means something and the PM is elected seperate from the MPs like down in the States. I refuse to vote for the least offensive candidate and I refuse to settle for governments that are elected with less than 50% of the popular vote and then take that as a mandate to rule unchecked and ignore the views of ordinary Canadians.

- DariusKnight

Well then you'd better get out and vote for anyone other than the conservatuves: both liberal and ndp are set to change the voting system from the first past the post to a more representative one, both saying before the next election. The oilers were on the second night of a back to back and our team was rested. Perhaps the Canucks and fans should start taking them seriously. They are a good team.

that voting post quoted was completely illogical. abstaining from participating in the process isn't a stand for meaningful change.
its the exact opposite. its not exercising his right to have his say.

of course hes entitled to not make his mark, but in that case all hes doing is standing by idly hoping that change happens without his input. this is called the free rider problem and is a real issue in democracies.

the resource sector/tax comments indicate fairly strongly that hes pro oil and free market so I assume it be wasteful to even suggest the green party. but if wants meaningful change that isn't the status quo, wants to change the electoral system and isn't in lock step with the same ole way of doin business, they are absolutely the party to go with. the more I do my research and the more I compare the leaders and party ethos---its not even fuking close.

I blame WD. Don't get me wrong it is only one game. He needs to have set lines. He has got to stop switching to find a home for Vrbata. Screw him he is gone soon anyways.

Having 4 th line out with 30 seconds in a tie game is just dumb.

He also has to stop plastering players asses to the bench when they make a mistake. We just got rid of a coach who used that style.

McCann may have missed a play or two the game before but he also scored a frigged goal

Eklunds Canuck roomers are anywhere from pure fantasy to a bad trip on bath salts with kaptaan. I wouldn`t put any stock on the Bozak roomer, it makes no sense what so ever.

It could make sense only if they are sending McCann back and moving Sutter up full time with the twins for the next three years.

Something like

The biggest difference is goaltending and coaching. It's taking a bit for the new systems to sink in, and ( knock on wood) both oilers goalies look solid. Still, we got lucky with that missed goal. Miller looks really good as well. More ups and downs coming this season with the oilers.

we need a power play. weber on the point would help but I don't think you could sit hutton so then you have to sit Bart. Bart is the new Vey so we are screwed.

The Sedin dance is largely figured out. I think a big weakness is that Willie won't coach the Sedins enough to change their PP style. We would need a vet coach to do that and so we will never have a great powerplay....

smells like 500 hockey

If the Bozak thing is true then one wonders when McCann will be sent down.

If we can dump Burrows for Bozak wow we'd better take that and run...could turn Bozak into a winger...

But I hear you on WD. Needs to get the lines set and leave them for a bit. But I for one wouldn't pin that loss on 'Real Good' Willie...I'd pin it on Daniel for the showboat missed goal when he should have just tapped the damn thing in

I really hope the Flyers don't win tonight. I could live with the Wings or Blues winning, but not the Flyers.

The Blues will be shut out. Wings & Flyers win their divisions and merge teams. A huge parade across Canada!!!

Nobody is going to clinch outright this time, at best it goes to the tiebreaker with either the Red Wings or Blues getting a slight home ice advantage.

I still don't agree with people who say I should pay for tickets, all that does is perpetuate mediocrity. If everyone stopped buying tickets you'd see the game change drastically.

I'm hoping for the Blues to win the Presidents Trophy and the Red wings to win the east and have home ice advantage until they play the Blues in the final.

I think (hope) the Wings win it. The Flyers definitely choked down the drive, and the Blues are dirty cheats and are trending the game in a horrid direction -- real dead puck bully of a team. I think they're a terrible choice for the good of the league, both domestically and internationally.

They mentioned Mccann was banged up. I could see him being hurt after what Backes did to him.

This is one reason why i think WD is the wrong coach for us. EDm getting Mclellan(however you spell his name) makes me regret not getting an interim coach and tanking last year and signing him this year, but hindsight is 20/20.

WD is also way to fast to play vets over young guys, especially when the young guys have created more offense and played a big role in your only goal. Who plays 4th line players in last 2 mins of a tied game anyways? so stupid.

Virtanen is the next Perry. McCann is the next Sakic.
We have a set 1st line for years to come.

Horvat is the next Yzerman. Not bad having Yzerman as your second line centre.
