Initially read that as "stand in goaltender Ron Hextall".

January.

If need be, the Flyers will recall a goaltender (most likely Jason LaBarbera) from the Phantoms on Saturday to back up Steve Mason.

So Labarbera will probably start for the Phantoms tonight, with Stolarz starting on Saturday. That way Lababera shouldn't actually miss any AHL game time even if he has to be Mason's backup on Saturday.

15 Michael Del Zotto - 22 Luke Schenn
82 Evgeny Medvedev - 3 Radko Gudas

On Wednesday night it was MDZ-Gudas and Medvedev-Schenn. Did they abandon those pairings already?

Haha I noticed that we once again had a Hextall in goal.. can't be a bad thing. Does Jeff normally stand in? This is the first time I've read about him participating.

If I remember correctly, last season Jeff helped out and he stunned all of the flyer's shoot out attempts or soenthing along those lines?

We'll see at morning skate tomorrow. Lots of rotating of pairs today -- 55/32 was the only constant -- but Schenn's first rep was with Del Zotto.

No. It was the answer to "when do the Flyers play the Bruins again"

Winnipeg is off to a good start and looking to build off of last years playoff appearance.

For all the flaws, Buff is a big part of their success and that locker room. Don't see him moved for "prospects" or a combo of lesser players. Jets more looking at the now.

With a top 4 of Myers, Buff, Trouba and Enstrom. Luke wouldn't be sniffing ice there unless it's on the 3rd pairing.
He is arguably worse than what they employ on the 3rd pair now.

Ek keeps looking at these Winnipeg trade ideas only through the lens of the Flyers.

The coach said that every line has the responsibility of helping out offensively as well as defensively "in their own way"; if not by scoring goals then by creating momentum through forechecking pressure and good puck management. Hakstol feels the Bellemare unit has been effective in generating quality shifts.
- bmeltzer

I couldnt have said it better myself!

It is a tiny sample size in the scheme of things but so far so good with the Hakman!
