Bob Duff: Red Wings' mission: Stop Ovechkin Washington sniper Alex Ovechkin will look to break Sergei Fedorov's NHL record for goals by a Russian in Detroit on the night the Wings are honoring Hall of Famer Fedorov.

Should be pretty easy just go have Ericsson go out an sucker punch him. He has the hang of it.

Are you actually referring to the Stars game? Or did I miss something...

I see they got AA in the game tonight. Sure would like to see this kid break into the lineup. He's got a huge offensive upside. It would be cool if he got his first NHL goal.

Is it just me or is this getting ridiculous? Offense is the best defence. Why play your fourth line against Ovi and Kuz who are Washingtons worst defensive players. With that you get our scoring lines against Washingtons best defensive lines.
I mean they talk so much about how you need to play a 200 ft game. It`s not like the rest of the group can`t play defence.
Detroit have a very deep team, trust your lines. I rather see the Sheahan-line pin down the Ovi-line in the offensive zone, rather than the Glendening-line spending every shift in the defensive zone blocking shots at a high level.
I wonder why we struggle scoring goals... I thought the Sheahan-line was our best line againt Dallas, they got 9 minutes 5vs5. They need more ice-time!

hard to argue with coach Blash after that game and those results.

I agree and I disagree. It's not that I mistrust any line we have, but after seeing what Glendening can do last year shutting down Johnson and the Triplets in the Playoffs, I trust him fully.
