Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: With Injuries Taking Their Toll, Brandon Prust Returns The Vancouver Canucks will get a measure of relief for their injury woes as Brandon Prust looks set to return to the lineup for this weekend's home games at Rogers Arena.

I know Sbisa is not the answer to the Nucks problems on Defense but it pisses me off that he had to fight Peluso the other night after a CLEAN hit on Ehlers. Now he may be out of the lineup because of that one sided tilt. If the refs stopped the fight after Sbisa took the first 8 punches he would be playing still. But no both linesman stand there and watch him take a pounding before he finally gathers himself to throw a few in self defense which ended up hurting his hand. And to top it off. No instigator penalty called. I feel like Sbisa got the sh1t end of the stick.

Sometimes I look at the lines and think "Awesome, this looks promising" and then the game starts and either they don't stick together that long or some lines get skipped in the rotation all together

Thought the hit before the fight was bad enough, Sbisa's face pushed up against the glass. Just another night of what the refs decide to call...

I'm glad we are losing, it builds character... and better draft picks.

"Not long term" sounds much more ominous to me than "day-to-day," yes? -CS

Sounds like the element of unknown is there for sure, not committing to a return date or any sort of time frame... you think for a moment, short term? but if it was a short term injury, why not say it? did a teenager give this answer?

losing close 1 goal games builds character, you have to work, you are almost there... losing games all the time by 2 or more goals, means you suck but the better draft pick could come in handy.

I like my idea of
Vrabata for Tinordi(+?)
Edler + for Hamonic.

I think that would help the team. Vrabata's future goals will be missed once he gets started, but that would build a better back end with some much needed toughness.

Canucks are losing close 1 goal games.
This year has been great. Entertaining games, close losses, and the rookies are all playing, we couldnt ask for anything more.

Would need more than just Vrbata for Hamonic.
Vrabata+Edler for Hamonic +(we would need to eat upwards of 50% of Vrbata salary unless we take a cap dump)

I'd rather have picks if possible for Vrbata and guessing MTl would have to dump some salary. Edler for Hamonic sounds like a no brainer, the + part, I might not like but gotta give to get.

My comment on the 1 goal games was just repeating what WD was saying. The games have been close. Frustrating to see the games turn on a veteran mistake or bad line change.

The people who wanted the full blowup should feel some consolation with the number of prospects in the lineup. I think McCann could have used another year of junior, wouldn't have hurt his development, but enjoy seeing his speed and skill in the lineup.

If Vrbata and a few of the vets had been a little more productive of late, we would be seeing different results.

No real complaints though besides the usual concerns over player deployment decisions and reffing.

Enjoying the kids in the lineup. feel for them when a mistake is made, and when they do great.

In bold imo is the main reason why the losses. The Detroit game still pi$$es me off.

Tight games, puck didn't get deep, need a line change and guys are just coasting towards the bench, sometimes in a line to get through the door... guys on the bench waiting to jump on, don't want to get another too many men call against.... no urgency to get off the ice, puck soon ends up in our net...

After that nice start, it looked like the playoffs were a reasonable expectation. The last games at home, followed by the road trip showed nothing was being handed to this team, they need to work for it. Attention to detail and all that. Everyone is making mistakes and need to be sharper. (thinking of Miller , but hold no grudges )

I think that's a good deal. Post it in the Islanders thread and see what they think.

You don't have to like it but that's the way it should be. Clean or not if you wanna take runs at the opposing teams stars then you's better be willing to pay the piper. I give Sbisa credit for answering the call even though he got pounded.

totally agree. couldn't believe there was no instigator call, that penalty call may have changed the course of the game... probably not though
