Good game all around,

great effort and hustle for sure, Mrazek gave up a lousy goal that went off his glove,

but otherwise he played well too (i dont blame him for the breakaway)

i was terrified larkin went down for a serious injury, was extremely relieved when he came back.

hopefully they can replicate against the blues

LGRW!

Blues vs Red Wings game day preview

The Blues look to continue their winning ways at home when they take on the Red Wings tonight at the Scottrade Center at 7pm CST. Both teams come in having won their last game and the Red Wings have a very respectable road record of 5-3-1. Both teams also have two of the best rookies in the NHL so far this season in Colton Parayko and Dylan Larkin.

The Redwings have two players that average more than a point per game against the blues, Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk who have combined for an amazing 50 goals and 91 assists in 126 games. Mike Green has also enjoyed success with 2 goals and 5 assists in 6 games. Jimmy Howard will likely get the start after given that the team played last night against LA. He has a 2.55 GAA and a 91.5% save percentage against the Blues. Datsyuk hopes to finally get on track as he only has 1 assist in 5 games this year.

For the Blues, would you believe that Kevin Shattenkirk has the highest points per game average of any player who has played in at least 10 games against the Red Wings at 0.67? David Backes, Alexander Steen, and Troy Brouwer are all about 0.55 points per game. If you were not sure who the team sees as the number 1 net minder, look no further than tonight. Jake Allen is expected to get the start even though Brian Elliott has better career numbers against the Red Wings, 91.3% vs 88.4% save percentages, respectively. Dimitri Jaskin and Jori Lehtera are both looking for their first points against the Red Wings.

It’s a great day for hockey.

Very abbreviated.

I guess the most appropriate answer would be sometimes.

Threw that stuff together really quickly this afternoon in between dealing with some roof issues and paint issues. Sometimes I really miss the days of living in an apartment.

ETA - so what was your opinion of the OT goal...stoppable by allen or not?

Incredibly winnable game from Kings perspective. Should have at the very least been able to get it to overtime. Doughty misses wide open net to tie it up at 3. Unfortunately, it's hockey and that stuff happens.

I've watched it a few times and I'm not convinced it doesn't ramp up off Pietrangelo. The other hard part for Allen is Richards has Tatar ready for a 1T on the other side too, so he has to be ready for both directinos. Richards was remarkably subtle making the short pass to Pulk's wheel house, and he isn't going to miss from there too often.
