would be REALLY nice to see the flyers win three in a row. looking forward to medvedev again.
on a totally unrelated note:
i went to a goalie camp this summer in chicago (for the first time in decades), which was led and hosted by a 22 year american kid named garret sparks, who's a prospect of the toronto maple leafs. last year he spent most of the season in orlando with the solar bears. tonight, he earned a shutout in his first ever nhl game, the first time a maple leaf goalie has EVER done that.
he's a nice kid, who works hard and has a lot of talent. so (frank)ing happy for him right now. his buddy, mike condon who was also at the camp and a great guy, isn't doing such a shabby job in montreal either. he earned himself an ECHL tryout after finishing at princeton after going undrafted. now he's price's understudy 2 years later. and the other guy, scott darling merely helped chicago win the (frank)ing cup last year after basically being thrown off his college team for personal issues and bouncing around the minors.
it's beautiful to see 3 young scrap heap goalies emerge from working their asses off.

The PK has been really strong since Bellemare returned. With him in the lineup, Hakstol can run 3 good sets of forwards on the kill, which keeps everyone fresher and more effective. |

Was Sparks rocking the Trevor Kidd pads at camp?
That is awesome, seeing 3 guys work their asses off and make splashes. Congrats to all 3

yes, he had the trevor kidd pads at camp. i watched him in some drills on the second to last day after we got off the ice. he's just so solid. really quick for a big guy, uses his pads extremely well. it was an absolute pleasure watching him stop the puck. it made me jealous of his size if nothing else. it sucks being 5'9". at least mike condon nicknamed me "speed demon" during camp. so i have that going for me....which is nice. |

Beautifully worded. You said everything I was thinking but could not so artfully express as you have done. You have a gift. |

Going on a road trip, will be gone until 12/20.
Maybe by the time I get back Voracek will have 10 goals and Vinnie will have retired.

seems to me that cousins/laughton would be a better offensive group than PEB/VdV. why not pair Jake with the kids instead of the journeymen? |

Sorry, but I still say Manning has played better than Schultz the past six games or so they have both played. I'm sure some of it has been Ghost, but Manning has made better decisions and hasn't had any major mistakes(other than the errant pass against the Isles). It's not going to lose us the game to have #23 and #53 paired together again.
Let's give some of the Manning hate a rest. He had a rough start to the season, but has improved more recently. |

Manning vs. Schultz vs. AMAC. Winner faces Vinny vs. Retirement.

I didn't get to see the game, but saw the highlights. And yes, his move both laterally and his recovery back to his feet were really quick. And seeing him break down in tears in the post-game interview was pretty cool, could tell how caught up he was with it. |
