Considering the Flyers second PP unit includes Matt Read, Sean Couturier and Micheal Raffl...I hope that Eklund adds the Flyers to this list!!!! |

Habs won't, or at least shouldn't give up the assets it's gonna take to acquire this guy |

Not sure if its bad luck or what but Drouin seems to get beat up a bit. Have him on my fantasy team and he's day to day almost every other week. |

And sure enough Ek leaves out Yzermans quote stating the move is solely to get Drouin as much playing time as possible after all of the time he's missed with injuries. |

He might use him to replace the inevitable Stamkos departure, a package around Drouin to Columbus for Johansson could make sense |

yup
"While it was not officially labeled a conditioning assignment, GM Steve Yzerman said this was a move "specficially so he gets playing time," comparing it to what they did with goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy.
Drouin, 20, has been limited to just 19 games this season due to two different injuries, playing in just five since mid-November. Yzerman said there's no "set date" for Drouin's return to the NHL.
"Jonathan has played in nine games in the last nine weeks," Yzerman said. "He's been dealing with a minor nagging issue that is finally healed. With everyone coming back at the same time, it's a good opportunity to get a young player a lot of ice time, get his game right back on top and bring him back at the appropriate time."

Seth Jones would've been the better choice, considering the assets they gave up for Coburn. |

He won't do anything with drouin till the stamkos deal or traded gets done. Stamkos is yzerman number one concern now he will focus on signing stamkos or dealing him. |

Palat has been taken off ir more so it's a cap move and drouin is the only one that they can really send down without hitting waivers! They don't want jam to get claimed! And everyone else fits the bottom six. As soon as another injury hits drouin will be called right back! Until then he will get his legs back playing top line mins with the crunch, |

I think this is a conditioning assignment. EDIT: I just read Yzerman said that is what it is. Plus they have 14Fs right now and he and Paquette are the only waiver eligible, Drouin goes down to play top line for Crunch.
But I agree Arty if they are going to trade him the only way I see Yzerman moving Drouin is in a package deal with Carle but I think the other team would have to take on the whole of Carle's contract considering they are getting Drouin at 1.5 years on his rookie deal and his RFA rights. But I could still see salary retention say 1MM if the return is big enough. Trade deadline for the Bolts will be real interesting. |
