That trade was about as good as Whaley's Watkins move.
Any chance GMTM is in on the Drouin action? Maybe Ennis and some picks? - leonwaldo420
I have no problem with either trade...they were what they were...
don't know if ennis/drouin is a possibility, but I can see the sabres souring on ennis...he's moveble too |

It needs to be a forward with a low celery. Ennis will not cut it, unless you are taking several bad contracts back with it. |

Carry over
I agree. But I would love it if it was possible
- Stripes77
I don't think i would be all that upset.
If Girgensons is involved, yes it sucks to lose a guy like him, but Drouin is a former top 3 pick, with dynamic offensive upside.
I also don't get the "Drouin is small" comments. He is what 5"10 195 lbs? |

Someone posted in the last blog's comments about the Salary Cap potentially going down 3 million this summer. If that is happening I don't see any way Stamkos stays with Tampa. |

Zads was unreal last night, strong strong game for him, he had something like 5v5 cf% around 64...looks like a completely different Dman now compared to the start of the year.
Smashing, jumping up in the play to create some offense, clean break out passes. He was Zadtastic |

Really glad to hear that. Gotta give to get, but wish we still had Zads somewhere in our system. |

Good for him. Hopefully he can keep putting it together. Consistency is going to be his key. If he can make it so when things go great or not so great he keeps a level head he can turn into a really good defenseman for a long time.
Love O'Reilly, also loved how our defense was projecting with him and Risto in the lineup |

played with Beauchemin last night 5v5 and Barrie on the PK. Getting solid D partners instead of scrubs on the 3rd pairing is going to help him too |

Nothing like a nice easy game against the Bruins to get Lehner back into the swing of things in the NHL. They might be keeping Weber in over Pysyk just for the idea that he'll help protect Lehner more than Mark would. He'll take a penalty for it at the worst possible time, however. |

he has it all, skills-wise...what goes on upstairs is what's troubling...
that said, loved the kid as a player and sorry he was traded |

As a non-sabres fan I think you guys tried to force the speed-up of the rebuild too much and overpaid on kane and lehner. O'reilly looked expensive too but you did have a ton of assets to move and he's worked out. |

Point being he wont be enough to land a drouin. I really dont like the idea of moving Ennis. Im rather confident he will bounce back based on his body of work over the past few years |

Oh not you too, now on the trade Ennis train?
Ennis for Drouin should be possible since Drouin is a complete gamble at this point, but we all know it won't be enough for TB so I stay away from Drouin.
I want to see Ennis come back into form through the end of this season, and I think he will if he can stay healthy. He's shown to be a very consistent producer over the last few seasons and I'd at least like to see the results of him playing meaningful games with quality partners...............if we trade him after that, when his value is higher, so be it. |
