What's a new Garth blog without another baseless good, young D-Man for Tyler Ennis trade rumour. This time with Brian Gionta.
Together they share a 8.9M Cap hit. Together they have scored 10 goals this year. That's a lot of $ and term for two players well past their prime. |

Oh god where to start.
1. Cam Fowler isn't that great.
2. Ennis has been hurt most of the season. He needs to get healthy and the Sabres desperately need his scoring touch, not some baseless D man.
When Ennis is healthy and on his game he's a 20 goal scorer. Your great idea is to trade him away for 1 d-man in combination with the team Captain. Smh.... |

Probably going to wait till off season to trade players . At best the ducks trade for a rental. we need the d men depth to play aginst deep teams like chicago and LA . If other teams were serious about getting one of our players they should have done it when we where losing. |

The Ducks would be wise to trade Cam Fowler to Buffalo in exchange for Chad Johnson and Brian Gionta or Tyler Ennis, plus a second round pick in the 2016 NHL draft.....
I'm sure the Ducks could just trade for James Reimer instead, better goalie, and certainly wouldn't cost them fowler. That's wise....your trade isn't. |

But then they wouldn't get the awesome offensive power of Gionta. I guess TO could throw in Spaling or Boyes so that Anaheim could get that 5 or 6 goals for the season that they are missing. |

I look forward to our version of Patrick Kane ( Jack Eichel ) and Johnathan Toews (Samson Reinhart ) for many many years to come.
This is what some of you 'bloggers' should be writing about.
There will be Cup's here in Buffalo before too long if Murray is competent enough to fill out this roster properly. I question whether he will be the GM to be able to get it done however. |

Cam Fowler for a rental backup goalie and a choice of bad contract players that don't fit the Ducks style of play. If Murray makes that deal, he's unemployed before the playoffs and a lot of us season ticket holders will walk. Rental backup goalies generally bring back a 3rd or 4th or maybe a marginal prospect like Nic Kerdiles, not a young top-4 defenseman on a cap-friendly salary (see the recent Max Friberg for Dustin Tokarski deal for a comparable).
As for Gibson, your photo doesn't show Panik's knee clocking him in the head. If I had to guess, I'd say stiff neck from the way his head snapped back when he was hit. He didn't leave the game immediately after the hit; trainer didn't even come out. Ducks are faster to pull goalies after these types of plays than many teams, because there's no drop off between 1 & 2. |

As far as I can see . The Ducks have no reason . to panic . They are bringing up an experienced NHL goalie to back up Anderson . Anderson's numbers have been good this year. Garth every time a player gets nicked you re clammering for a trade . Relax the reason a team like Anaheim stays successful is they do not panic and make bad trades. |

Cam Fowler and Corey Perry for Brian Gionta, Matt Moulson, Tyler Ennis and Chad Johnson.
The Ducks are too top heavy and need more scoring depth and they only have 3 NHL caliber goalies and clearly need a 4th sorta NHL caliber goalie in Chad Johnson. |

the only way this makes sense is adding a few words like fowlers hockey sticks and perrys left over lunch, not the actual players |

Congrats on Stamkos (Bobby Mac's opinion, a good one). And congrats to us all if he doesn't pick Buffalo and either re ups, or I get a wet dream fulfilled and he comes to Toronto, so we can read a Garth blog losing his mind as if it was a personal shot against him for not taking the obvious winning road and just going for the money. |

I hope he ends up in Toronto too . I do not want to be saddled with the contract it is going to take to land him. Great player but since big time free Agency bidding started . Who has it really worked for?

And that was because Baseball does not have a hard cap like the NHL.

Congrats to the Sabres if he doesn't sign with us. Stamkos although a star in the league is pretty overrated. |

Gionta one hell no. But Ennis and a 2nd is close to Fowler's worth throw a prospect like Baptiste and another late 4-5 (rounds) then it's a good deal.
You Anaheim peeps are vastly overrating your 30 point defenseman. |

I'd rather have my 30 point reliable 2-way D-man that could play on any top 4 pairing. Tyler "Tiny Tim" Ennis who has never had a 50+ point season doesn't fit Anaheim's game.
You Sabres fans keep dreaming tho. |
