I'm just going off of memory here, but don't all teams have to o.k. Kovalchuk's return to the NHL as per his "retirement" agreement with the Devils?
also, since he's an international player, isn't he subjected to re-entry waivers if and when he resigns with the devil? That would Edmonton first dibs. |

Been chasing a slew of rumors, but I was just told by a very reliable source that Ilya Kovalchuk may be leaving Russia and signing with an NHL team before Monday's traded deadline which would make him eligible for the post season...
