So the Bruins give Loui, a spec AND one of the 3 1st rounder from last year for just Drouin??? That would be awful for BOS and Drouin is arguably a bad for in BOS.
If DS trades all that for just Drouin to a GM who NEEDS to trade the player and is not in a strong position he is moronic

The Montréal Canadiens surprise everyone last night with a really big win versus the Washington Capitals, but the bigger surprise could be to come I am told. I mean. This debate has happened on here before but Yzerman doesn't have to do anything he actually holds the power over Drouin in the situation. Not to mention Boston would have to outbid a reported 10-15 other teams with strong interest and by enough for Tampa to trade a young player with elite talent in division where he could hurt them more as opposed to out of division or conference where he would do less damage to them while they try to compete.

i agree... this seems like a gross overpayment for Drouin... we already sort of got fleeced in the connolly deal. the only thing I can see is Sweeney using Drouin as a trade chip for Dman either at the deadline or at draft day. the only kid I see him giving up is DeBrusk as well. Zboril is needed in the system and sweeneys obviously super high on ZS.
don't really see this materializing...also had no (e) rating... and eriksson was link to Van city yesterday.... i dunno what to think anymore...

Eriksson is a rental... - Eklund
Agree, BUT, in that same sense I wouln't really want to move either of Seneshyn, Debrusk or Zboril AND a prospect for Drouin to be honest, esp not along with one of their best players to a Team they could realistically see in RD1 of the playoffs.
Yzerman isn't dealing in a position of strength, so if he gets this big of a package from Sweeney, Sweeney is not doing his job properly.
And, like I stated, I don't really see Drouin as a great fit in BOS

I would generally agree with this except for the fact you have a team that may make a push this year. Going all in for the cup while you have Stamkos means it would make the most sense getting something positive for Drouin to help that push.
By leaving him off the ice and out of trades you get nothing. I think this alone ties Yzerman's hands a little and may force him to take less.

While it might Yzerman has never been one to make concessions or ruin the future for 1 season. Especially with no guarentee of keeping Stamkos I think that makes getting the most for Drouin in terms of long term pieces more important. Trade Drouin for rentals and lose Stamkos and your team isn't competitive and your farm is bare. Trade Drouin for maximum in futures at least if Stamkos goes you have something to build from. That being said Yzerman has stated that winning now is a factor in a Drouin deadline trade but I doubt hes gonna take a lot less and risk losing everything. And if he does take less Drouin will likely go West where they'll get some value in not having to play against him 5 or 6 times a season.
