The Flyers aren't going to Florida early for any fishing or 'team bonding' expeditions, are they? That hardly ever works down there... |

Seems in recent memory they have really struggled on the FLD trips. Here's to a better outcome |

before playing back-to-back games in Tampa Bay and Sunrise.
This rarely ends well for this team.
Especially playing the 2nd half of a back to back against a good Florida team. |

So much for tampa not getting in the playoffs with that 1c that puts pucks in nets. |

All kidding aside, they need to take at least 6 points from their next 4 games and follow that with a regulation win over Detroit.

yep, the margin for error is almost 0 unless one of the wildcard teams above them really crashes and burns, which currently and probably is not happening |

Would be a good time for the Flyers goalie to steal a win, whoever is in net.
At least no softies for them to have a chance.
This is a make or break stretch against all high quality teams coming up.
Not sure what will happen but it wouldn't surprise me either way with this team. |

Agreed. 5 or 6 would be nice. Keep it rolling and hopefully get at least a point in each game. Hopefully Mark Streit pulls a Gudas and scores 2. Show them what they could've had. |

Does Bill always put the broadcast info in his blog? I just noticed it said the game will be televised on CSN and I never noticed that before. (other than a few NBC broadcasts) |

I'd prefer 8, but even 5 with 2 being a regulation win over Detroit would keep them in the conversation. Looks like NJ is out. |

I'm thinking they need to at least 8 but I'd prefer 10 points in the next 6 games as long as they don't give Det or Pit a point when they play them. It's nail biting time if they want to make the playoffs.
NJ is probably toast without Corey. So it's probably only Carolina and Ottawa in the rear view mirror. |

The most vital thing is to keep pace with Detroit, Pittsburgh and even teams like the Isles and Rangers.
If they can keep pace with the Red Wings and Penguins, they really hold their own destiny in hand. With 18 games left, they have 5 against the two primary teams they are chasing. Keeping pace and beating the Wings and Pens head to head gets them into the playoffs. |

Lets go Flyers!
Really need to come out fast and get some pucks on the net early. As a coach (albeit soccer and lacrosse) I always put an emphasis on the first 5 minutes of the game. Get out and throw every thing on net. Typically if you can cash in within those first five minutes and dictate the play, you usually go on to win. So here's to a quick start!! |

Even with all that Star Power, the Penguins really have seen a lot of the same issues we have all season, which is why they're in but barely. The Wings have trouble scoring at times. This could come down to the wire. |

Not sure if this was discussed yesterday, but I would go back to Nuveirth tonight. I know Mason got the shutout but he wasn't all that tested. I'm a Mason fan , but Nuveirth has been the better goalie this season. Flyers need to dress their best players if they want to get into the postseason. |

Neuvirth has been better overall, but he has struggled lately. Mason was able to stay focused when he hadn't been tested much when he saw that barrage on the late PP. He played well and, to me, should get the start. |

The wings goalies are also having issues right now and Larkin is finding his rookie slump. Double monkey fist lock finger cross it continues. I'm not as optimistic as Jasq, I think DET is pretty much the only chance of making it in. Sure statistically that isn't true but all of those teams are playing well right now while DET is closest and stumbling a bit. A few loses here and we will be talking draft again. |

Also, although the points have been hard to come by, I'm not worried about Ghost. He's still driving offense and creating chances, the pucks just aren't going in. He seems to have the mental drive to keep it up. Getting Voracek as a legit scoring threat on the other side of the PP would help, as teams are cheating between Giroux and Ghost right now. |

His point production (and especially goal scoring) was a result of a lot of good luck. I knew the slump would come, but I agree with you. He is still doing all the same things right. There have been several times I have noticed he would be getting a tertiary assist. Maybe AMac is stealing all his luck |
