Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Royally Dominated by Los Angeles Kings Missing four players from their usual top five due to injury, the Vancouver Canucks took a 5-1 beating from the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night at Staples Center.

Great article Carol, that game was definitely hard to watch, that is definitely a tanknation starting roster.
I'm hoping VIrtanen gets a good look on that top line, he hits like a truck, and he seems to have a knack for getting under superstar's skin (perry, doughty come to mind) very hard to get the puck off this guys stick too. Would love to see a top line of Virtanen/dank/granlund next.

Hate seeing Horvat reduced to bottom line duty, but maybe he's just considered a known quantity and they are trying to keep him healthy for next season. McCann has earned more time too.

Wow.

"Daniel Sedin, one of two Canucks to play in all 65 games, failed to get a shot on net for the first time this season. That leaves Montreal left wing Max Pacioretty as the only player in the league to get at least one in each of his team's games."

it'll be better in the long run to lose a few games now for the draft ranking, but still doesn't make it any easier to accept.

It's hard to accept that things will be better in the long run?

It should be interesting.

Maybe WD will pull the goalie in the first period of a scoreless game...

This is a tough time to be a Canucks fan. You want them to be competitive yet we are hoping for a top draft pick. I would love to see more games like the Islanders game where they play hard, we see good things from the kids yet they fall short. I like what Virtanen is doing he's taking steps towards being the true power forward they need. It may be the old school hockey guy in me but I want to see him jump someone and beat the hell out of them. He play physical and does a lot of the things that good power forwards do but I think chucking the knuckles a couple more times would put the league on notice. He doesn't shy away from the scrums at all and doesn't pick and choose who he hits, so I think a nice tilt would go a long way towards people looking over their shoulder when he's on the ice. All that said as tough as some of these games are to watch there is positive development happening. McCann seems to just need an off-season to workout and gain weight to make more impact next season. He's still throwing his weight around and getting in on the fore check. I have to remind myself that was one of the top 5 teams in the league too, they did what they were expected to.

our 6'1 team got killed by the 6'4 LA team last night. All I see is our players getting destroyed against the wall and being man-handled. This is where Tryamkin and Pedan comes in next season.

Who knows what players JB will be targeting in the draft. we hear all about wanting those lottery picks and then hear years later how this or that player was passed over by all these teams and picked later in the draft.

trading down a few spots doesn't sound too far fetched to me, if it does happen, I'd guess it would be a move that happens just before the Canucks turn to pick.

I kept on seeing us in the 8th spot with one of those draft simulators and can't guess who JB likes.
