I still wonder how someone can look at the numbers this year and be wanting to bring back aging vets who were the cause of those nymbers |

From last blog.
Well for starters, regardless of when they join the league, they can only sign max ELC. The only thing that teams can offer is first team position. That was the reason why Schultz chose Edm over us. They offered playing time on oilers while we said we will give you a shot at training camp.
Secondly, kids these days are wired differently. They have regard for life, and health over their predecessor that was all about the money. More and more people in their prime are walking away from pro sports and leaving millions behind due to injury risks. Players are getting smarter by understanding the Cap Era and that if you are not the top player then you will be fighting for scraps with the leftover cap dollars. This means that the potential of getting paid like a Crosby, for Sedins is few and far in between. Most will be in the range of Higgins and after a few years you will have some rookie going for your job. If you don't have anything to fall back on then you are SOL. I have full respect for the players that opt to finish school and then play the game. if it works out great, you made it. You part of the 1%. If it does not then you still have an Ivy league education that will help you pay your bills. |

Yes, I think this is an excellent opportunity for him.
I'm also hoping that Boeser and/or Demko might be named to Team USA. Last year, a couple of NCAA players who hadn't yet signed pro contracts were on the team—including Jimmy Vesey, Mike Reilly and Jack Eichel, who hadn't even been drafted yet.

The exact same thing can be said of anyone that suited you for the canucks, don't just blame the vets...better yet who is going to be the excuse when there are no vets to blame. |

They didn't though... Other than horvat and I guess you could throw Hutton in there the kids didn't produce |

Depends on how you look at it though, I wonder what the price per point was for the entire Canuck's roster individually. Because if Sven counts as a kid, his salary and production was pretty good. JM and JV had tough stretches, but Horvat and Hutton did well |

I guess but Sven is 23 and 24 at the beginning of next season so if he has a year next year with the same point production as this year I'd be a bit worried. But I guess we will have to wait and see |

If he does, we know he can be at least be a PP specialist and slot in somewhere around the 3rd line. As long as people keep remembering the team still needs to fill out their 3rd and 4th line guys with guys under 30 too, the expectations and outrage can be kept to a minimum |

Bigalow deserves NO response from anybody given his past behavior. I am not against giving people second chances either, but he has made ZERO effect to grow up and be civilized with the people here and still continues to make "observant" remarks regarding our players or prospects that are not warranted or needed. |

The last five games for etem were good... His season was not..
Sven played hard but his point totals were lower then expected, like I said if he gets the same point totals next year I would be a bit worried, but maybe he lights it up
I'd like to see tryamkin in a full season but so far he's been pretty good other then adjusting to the speed that's over here |

that's great but if your disagreeing with my points give your head a shake. I may have brought it on a little strong but nothing I've said at all is untrue |
