so with it being august and training camp being a month or so away why not give hudler a PTO and see what he looks like in action with our guys.

Pass on Hudler. Keep working the phones on a trade for a younger player.

I dunno why everyone is so opposed to Hudler. He seems to fit the JB model of adding competitiveness and some offense for the rest of the Sedins' tenure, except this time all it costs is a contract and cap space. If it were like a 3 year deal with reasonable AAV I don't see how it would be a loss.

Maybe Hudler's asking price for $/term is high and in that case I get it.

Is it just that you all don't wanna see him take a spot from the young guys?

Hudler is good, could help the canucks. But I just dont see why he would come to the Canucks.

I was advocating Hudler before the start of free agency, because I think he could provide secondary scoring and his experience with young players was positive in Calgary. But term/$ is a big concern, and as this offseason has gone on, I share Carol's sentiment that I would rather the team falter but giving Etem/JV/Rodin a change to gain valuable experience, than limiting their minutes for an aging player

I'd prefer if they brought him in over someone like E. Kane.

But yeah what you say makes sense, maybe he likes the city? I kinda think he will end up with the Hawks and we will all get to read from JJ about how Hudler is a top 5 winger in the league.

I don't think its that people dislike Hudler it is more that we would rather use the youth we have and got through those type of growing pains. We will still be competitive with the veterans we have.

If those are the choices I would rather stand pat.
