It's good to see the fight and effort through to the end of the game from Philadelphia but obviously this can't go on all season long. I think with their current personnel they're still figuring things out, in terms of lines, chemistry and even specified roles for some players. MDZ returning to the lineup should help solidify the back end a bit. Manning has really impressed and Gudas has been solid since returning from his suspension. Both players might be playing a bit too many minutes though.
The Flyers goaltending was spectacular last season. This season, not so much. They have to be better.

I've always been that guy hard on my players, hard on Jake especially. If you are going to be elite, you gotta score. I can't argue the quality of Jake Voracek's game anymore. He's scoring. Total package. If he can stay healthy, stay consistent, he can be better than what he was two seasons ago.

Important updates:
In a video on the Flyers site, Provy says his favorite Halloween costume was when he dressed as Ivan Drago from Rocky IV for a couple Halloweens. Yesssssss.
And Lyubimov speaks English quite well. Better than that no good drunk whose name we shall not utter.

Thanks for sharing.
I posted this on the previous thread but it'll be fun when the Flyers will have both a German and a Roman (both Russian) playing—they could even be on the same line together.

On the bright side at least they are scoring goals this year. Now if either goalie can get through a game without giving up a softie and if they start to realize that the 1st period actually counts, they will be fine
- Provorov needs to get back with Manning. Maybe that will happen when Del Zotto returns. Even though Streit scored I still don't like him with Provorov.
- Thought Manning fight gave the team a spark. Maybe they need a fight in the first period.
- Vandevelde scored. JFC he socres so now he is never leaving the lineup.
- If Raffl is ready who comes out? I like Lyubimov's speed and game right now so I don't want him out.

Manning's play this year has really come out of left field for me. I thought he'd remain a serviceable guy, but didn't see him making this leap forward. I agree with you on the Streit Provorov pairing. Don't love it.
Win tonight and we're 1 game over .500 which is solid given our struggles with goaltending and how we like to not show up for first periods. I'm hoping a return of MDZ/Raffl as well as fewer games and more practice time allow the team to iron out some of the issues.

Glad to see Manning get off to a good start. I have always thought he was very good value as a 5/6 Dman for 700K and a much better choice than Luke.

First reg season game I had the chance to watch. Fun game to watch.
Some thoughts...
AMac was pretty solid all around, really a good effort from him tonight.
Belle, another guy who gets a ton of flack here, looked decent too.
I love watching the 19 yo guys play and think it was the right move to keep them both. Both are going to be studs.
But Haks might want to cut back on Provorov's minutes a little. I think he is going to wear down if they don't keep an eye on it.
On the Zetterberg goal, not sure what G was doing. Gudas is getting swarmed by Redwings and G is floating by the offensive blue line. Then he backchecks very weakly.
Bad effort from the captain there. I'm glad he made up for in OT, but that was weak.
I don't think Schenn should get disciplined for the head shot.
It's a work in progress but getting Raffl and Del Zotto back should help.
Not sure about Weise. He looked just OK to me. I guess we'll see.

Observations:
- Another softie goal again
- Matt Read has seem to come back to earth

Not sure what to say... it's great they are battling back from these deficits, it's worrisome that they get into then... i think if they figure out how to atart the games strong this can be a tough team down the line...
(frank) mike milbury too, (frank)ing guy always has to rag on our goalies... so sick of it.

I said that to someone sitting near me last night at the game and the guy in front of my glared at me like I had said something terribly wrong.
