The Panthers issues have much more to do with the regression of Aaron Ekblad and Roberto Luongo, than the philosophical approach.

Their approach also led to the acquisitions of Jonathon Marchessault and Colton Sceviour. Who have combined for 32 points this year with a combined cap hit of .....................1.5 million

you don't think losing Kulikov and gudbranson had anything to do with ekblad's regression?

that said, analytics has it's place...personally I wouldn't place it that high in an organization

Also junior.

I just watched the press conference after Rex fired Greg Roman.

Not once did he say we aren't a rushing team. So I am not sure where you are coming up with that.

Mike Schoop didn't have to watch the game to know how Myers did, he just looked at the fancy stats...

He was saying it yesterday on WGR, definitely believes we are a rushing team.

You're choosing to tell half the story.

0 mention of Marchessault or Sceviour who have been 2 of the best pickups this offseason, who were brought in by the "analytics guru's"

I can't cover everything, Brodie...when it comes to florida the prevailing news is that they moved the architect of their rebuild to an inconsequential hockey role, trded two hockey players on defense and brought in a bevy of analytics darlings on the blueline then fired the head coach who got the team to an Atlantic Division title with 103 points the previous season...

good for them and the scouts who found them...bottom line, the panthers sit two points ahead of the sabres having played two more games

Analytics is great for team performance, not so much for individual performance.

I find it funny how plus/minus is a useless stat, yet it was the first true analytic stat used.

Sure, they are what they are. The Sabres are what the Sabres are. Bottom line
