Hope everyone here has a wonderful christmas weekend. Do yourselves a huge favour, focus on family and forget this poor excuse for a hockey team, at least for this weekend. |

Blow. It. Up.
Keep Jack, Risto, O'Reilly, Okposo, McCabe, Guhle, Nylander.
Everyone else can GTFO in the name of prospects/picks.
Should be able to get decent returns for Sam & Marcus. Get what you can for the rest. Addition by subtraction. |

I can make a case that so far this season, the sabres have laid more eggs than all of last season

yeah but IMO they were more in more games last year
way too many flat starts lately, when the team is healthy none the less |

i'm no there yet...
although I agree with the new core, not sure why sam's getting grief...he's third on the team with 7g and 12a...last year through 33 games he had 8g and 6a... |

will never happen. But Murray has a serious opportunity at improving this team in this upcoming off season. Gionta, Grant, Kuli, Franson, are all gone. McCormick is off the books. Hopefully we lose one of Ennis, Moulson, BoGo to Vegas. Maybe a trade dump of Girgensons or D-Lo.
The point being is that Murray is going to have a lot of money freed up and a lot of contract space. This will be his Do-over after he screwed up in making a lot of bad trades/bad signings. He needs to hit a homerun this time.

poor starts have been a problem dating back to ruff with the main difference being this one has the propensity to come back |

Absolute train wreck and it starts with Disco. There is talent on this team and he's not getting the best out of them.
If GMTM doesn't pull the trigger fast this could spiral. Maybe Arniel has an out clause in his contract if he gets offered a head coaching position. He instantly upgrades your special teams. Maybe he can put these guys in a better position to win.
I think Bylsma lost the room already. |

as dire as the blog was, imo this team has a lot of talent and a bright future, albeit with some good-sized holes to fill right now...
I'm not so sure it's a talent issue at this point, could very well be coaching...for as hated as teddy was, he squeezed whatever talent he could get out of his players and it's something i'm not seeing at this point in time |

He's third on the team that is the worst scoring team in hockey. How many have gone from worst in scoring to a championship by keeping the roster intact? |

With a win today or next week, another AFC East team will figure out a way to make the playoffs despite New England dominating the division. It's okay though. The Bills are still allowed to use it as an excuse. |

Its both. Coach has made some head scratching decisions, but so has the 10 million dollar second pair. Improvements are needed in both areas. Thankfully the core, while unfinished, is very likeable. |

am of the opinion that murray has had to adjust his team-building philosophy on the fly...he built western conference with size and physicality as well as skating, but the east has been flying past them with their speed...
gonna take some tweaking and a game-plan to neutralize said speed |
