That goal called back last night was really weird, intent to blow the whistle? Like he thought about blowing it but forgot how it works?? "no no no, in my mind I blew it..." that could possibly be the dumbest rule in all of hockey
Imagine if that call was against us? The Bettmanhatesus dude would've lost his mind!! |

Interesting NHL CS Mid Term Rankings out today. The top 12 players
6 Centers
4 Defence
2 Right Wing
It looks like it will be a C or D so far for us.

Thanks for posting this! From the highlights and what few junior games i've watched, I like Tippet and Rasmussen up front and Makar and Hague on D - assuming we pick somewhere between 4-11
I think a forward is priority rather than D with our first pick - but either way I feel we got a chance at landing someone decent this draft. |

I totally understand the preds frustration with that call. "intent" to blow the whistle without blowing it, therefore, no goal? The NHL's explanation statement, along with video overhead footage does show the ref go to blow the whistle but man would that suck if it was against us lol. How many whacks did Miller take in that scrum? I know Stecher was sick with the flu but man he's gotta box out those forwards. |

Don't give up the hope ... I can see the headlines in Vegas now ....Rodin 4 Calder ...you must continue to fear this - Redmile247
You got to feel for the guy. He's had some hard luck. Instead of a Panarin type story he's the but of injury and coaching jokes. Now this birth defect knee issue to rehab may end his career. So let's just hope it works for him under Canucks medical care and he has a chance to prove himself next season. |

Depends where we land? Most want a C, Vantel want's a D, pretty sure it will be one of the 2 this year just the way those rankings are lining up. |

anyone who projected Rodin to be the next Panarin are just straight insane. Expectation in this fan base are probably the most absurd, and that is saying something cause Toronto has some crazy fans too...
I hate to say it, but nobody should be overly disappointed with how things have played out with Rodin. We knew about the skate cut, we knew he was going to be a project. There should have been no expectations on him for the year. The only thing we should be disappointed in is the fact that you have to feel for the guy. Skate slices his knee, signs a 1 year, needs a bunch of procedures and rehab, it must be awful for him. |

I thought the beef on the no goal would be more about the fact that the ref pointed at the puck as a 'good goal' after intending to blow the whistle.
If he waved it off immediatley, it wouldn't have such a rotten smell. |

Callan Foote. Could drop to our slot. Huge body. A touch under a ppg pace in the W this year. And his stats just keep getting better.
Not to mention he has a winners pedigree. I'd love that kid on our blue line. |

Yep, he'd be a good one. |

Have seen him play quite a bit. Last year he was amazing in the games I saw. Haven't seen as much this year but he definitely stands out. |

That wasn't the expectation. You are twisting things. The story is bringing in a mature but still young Euro developed player who can make an offensive impact. That was the hope after MVP season. To harp on that he would or could not bring anything is kind of crazy.
Nobody new about the birth defect on knee. So don't get all superior about it. A partial tendon cut shouldn't take more then a year. They over played him in pre-season. Result was rest and rehab. He gets back is declared ready after AHL stint and now this set back. That's why you got to feel for him.
Rodin was on a high development wise to come and prove it in the NHL. Like Panarin was and did. Not saying he's the same talent. No one knows until shown. Only similar arc of story if he didn't have the recovery issue. So we can put the book on him away for now. The fragile jokes will follow too. We'll see if there is another chapter to this story next season or not. |

Bang on. JB likes the 6-20 slot for this by his reporting. Can't have enough high end D and a C can always play wing if need be so they are preferred. JB will look for scoring types either way. |

I agree with you here. They were lucky. Miller in interview broke it down and did say the call should have been interference on the goalie. |
