Good news for the Sabers is that Dmitry Kulikov is slowly getting healthier, although he will probably have lingering back issues the rest of the season. Kulikov was part of a deal with Florida at the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo and was expected to play on the top pair but a preseason tumble into an open bench door messed up his back and tail bone. He had a horrible first half but we're starting to see what the big, mobile d-man has to offer.

I'd love to see the option where Sam is the #3C, Zemgus entire line be #4, but that leaves us with no wingers....unless its an option to get a winger or three.
I dont have my hopes set on Nylander coming in next year and saving the day.
Defense has just not been working out for Murray. I wholeheartedly believe Kulikov would have just been fine had it not been for that ugly injury. Bogo seems to hover between injury and plying injured. I think Georges is done or should have very limited minutes when he comes back.
Finding a defenseman with a couple hundred games under his belt that has remained healthy is pretty rare. We cant have all kids out there and the veterans we have are falling apart.
also, can we really not sign Legwand for the last 40 games? its not like he's going to ruin the season for us at this point...
