TO and Boston have a couple of games in hand. Don't get too excited. We still need to dump dead weight at the trade deadline. |

Toronto has games in hand. Boston does not. They're even. |

Lehner has played in 40 games and is 3rd in the league in save percentage tied with Holtby trailing Darling (only 23 games played) and Dubnyk.
He also has as many shutouts as Hank, Price, Rinne and Jones.
Your hated of the trade is seriously blinding you. You won't say it's not but to everyone else it's pretty clear. - Stripes77
You are talking about a goalie with a losing record currently getting a Vezina nod.
He's playing really well. Maybe a run of epic proportions get's him in the discussion |

One win over the Bruins in the back to back and we'd be tied with them...
It's frustrating when they lose when it matters most. |

Blinded...
A losing record with great stats...
Losses are a team stat.
Like I said if the Sabres make the playoffs (he won't have a losing record then) and his stats stay the same he should get a Vezina nod.
But you know you hate the trade and can't handle it.
He is on a really good run of late but I hate to break it to you his stats have been really good all year. |

I think Murray's focus is clearly on the long term. He won't keep dead weight around for a playoff push this year if he can an asset for them at the deadline. At least I hope he won't. |

I get what you're saying, but he's right. When is the last time a goaltender on a team that has a losing record was in the Vezina conversation?
Honestly, I hope he isn't in the Vezina conversation. That bodes poorly for the team in his contract negotiations, especially in a year they still probably won't make the playoffs. |

On a positive note Baileys speed adds a very nice element to our game we have needed all year. Send Grant back down, he has no place in the NHL. |

Great, go tell the people who nominated Quick for the Vezina last year with average numbers.
He isn't getting consideration.

From the last blog I stated if the Sabres were to make the playoffs...
That simple.
If they don't then Lehner doesn't get mentioned even though his numbers are really good/great even minus his teams record. |

Probably not enough to make it worth while. Then we would be on the hunt ourselves. If we went after Bishop then I would say go for it. |

back reading from the last blog... You mentioned a good point with Guhle for next year. We need to remember that rookie d men typically go through many ups and downs. Imo theyll be very careful with him prolly causing people to go nuts |
