Darren Archibald has not had an NHL contract for the last 2 seasons and cannot be called up unless the Canucks re-sign him, which I doubt would happen. |

Thanks Carol...I've been saying for months that we won't make a trade. It's not rocket science undesirable assets, NTC and a looming expansion draft = inactive deadline. |

I am with you. I think that Sellers are going to push for trades, but buyers will stand pat with expansion draft looming. Unfortunutely it is a bad year to suck and be sellers. |

Would be very very nice to see Brock play a couple games especially if we fall out of the playoff race relatively soon |

100%...I'm secretly looking forward to the freak out though. My favorite is when fans say they are done with the organization |

Aaah - good catch, thanks! I suspect you're right.
The Canucks are currently at 46 of the maximum 50 NHL contracts. It's far more likely that they'd use those remaining slots to sign NCAA free agents and/or Brock Boeser than to bring up a player like Archibald. |

Johnny Gaudreau played his first NHL game for the Flames against the Canucks at the very end of the 2013-14 season—and he scored.
That's my dream for Boeser.

no more burning up years of ELC for a dozen games. I didn't like it when Tryamkin did it, I think it sends the wrong message to prospects. I see why they were more inclined to do it with him in the KHL, but we should not start that trend. |

Some teams will make moves, some wont.
I think Benning does something but it will be of very little significance.

It's one of the few tools a team has to impress their prospects. I think it will continue to happen. |

I'd be in favor of signing him and playing him this year, give him a taste of the pro's, put him in a position to succeed, let him feel a part of the team.
As well all know, we aren't competing for the cup and do not need his ELC advantages for salary cap reasons. But we do need to ensure he signs. |

Absolutely no reason to do it though. Say Boesers season ends, school is done, we are for sure out of the playoffs, why bring him on to a losing team to experience 10 games a burn a year? |

Thank you Carol great stuff!!!
Miller...it's been a slice dude enjoy the humidity in Cali hopefully ice quality doesn't factor into your PO run in LA...if they make the PO's that is.
Burrows...thx so much for your hard work and efforts. You've turned into a great example and leader post Kesler and wish you nothing but the best in MTL...go get that cup dude. PS - thx for the goal vs CHI in gm 7 2011 round 1...unreal.
Hansen...you have proven to be one of the most versatile Canucks I have ever seen. Sad to see you go but it's time...good luck on the third or fourth line in PIT. Your talents are needed there badly.
It's a good day!

I think GM's and teams should always be mindful of the cap. What if Boeser is signed early and ends up having a first few seasons like Horvat (granted its a win/loss because hes a good player and producing) but paying a player like Horvat or Boeser a year early could effect your cap significantly. |

@Don.
Thanks Carol...I've been saying for months that we won't make a trade. It's not rocket science [] undesirable assets, NTC and a looming expansion draft = inactive deadline.
--------------------------
While your assumption might be correct, your argument is wrong.
Hansen, Burrows and/or Sbisa are generally the exact types of depth players that playoff teams look to make before making a big run.
While everyone remembers the one or two key moves of the TDL, there's typically a plethora of minor deals.
Last year for instance, there were 20 trades involving 38 total players.
Sure, expansion will lower those numbers but playoff teams tend to emphasize their 'win now window' as opposed to potentially losing a bottom 6 forward in the summer, while there is also a surprising number of teams that won't be effected by losing any 'key' forward this summer anyways.
Fact is, the prices will be low, but if Benning manages once again to lose players for nothing, be it through expansion or UFA, that will count as a lose. Pure and simple. |

To entice him to sign, to give him the experience and to market the product.
Lord knows this team is going to want to end on somewhat of a high note in an attempt to re-up ticket sales next season.
It's not as though this team will be facing a cap crunch anytime soon anyways lol. |
