Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks record 5th straight loss, Olli Juolevi impresses in OHL As the Vancouver Canucks limped towards the end of the season with a 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday, top prospect Olli Juolevi scored the series-winning goal as his London Knights advanced to the second round of the OHL playoffs with a 3-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires.

Maybe OJ won't be a bust after all...

trade Edler and Tanev for a legit top 6 forward prospect and a top 4 dman prospect and we'll accelerate the rebuild in time for OJs debut.

Watching both OJ and Tkachuk closely here at Mem.Cup. here last year in Red Deer I still feel OJ is the better choice. Talking with some of the scouts here as well and they were all leaning towards what OJ could bring a club. Not taking away from what Tkachuk has done as a rookie but we have enough one-dimensional players here...time to balance out.

before the season start i recall people going on about how Tanev got a shooting coach and might crack 10 goals or whatever... I was of the opinion the guy was going to be useless offensively and would be lucky to get anywhere near 5 or so....

#TradeTanev was my mantra then and it is now again....

all for trading Edler. Protecting Sbisa should be JB's priority at this point. He's quietly been our third best d all year, considering Edler's age/value he should be moved. Losing Sbisa for nothing would be a big mistake. Sbisa and Tanev lead the
d next year with the young guys hopefullyable to take on more minutes. Maybe Juolevi makes the lineup!

Great article Carol. Love the updates on the young guys, thanks!

How did Pastrnak slip by everyone in 2014, kid has 34 goals 70 points and he's tied for 14th in NHL scoring.

He is right on pace for his career average of shots per game and a slightly lower shooting percentage than usual, and is a woeful $445k per point (681st out of 743), all despite that shooting coach and some powerplay time this year

I got on board after his World Championship run, sell high

Following along on the thread, I have to point out why no one has mentioned what WD said last night; after the game on the Sedins.

He said: "we have looked into splitting them up and that is something we will look to do to next season."

Both a welcoming and disturbing statement. Either because he will be here and/or they both will be.

Remember when the Sedins had said that ideally, kids/someone would come in and force them into line 2 roles... I don't think anyone has forced them into it besides themselves lol.

Good news is that WD could be back next year so that all the posts will be anti WD.

And the Sedins will be back and possibly separated which will give several here another year of multiple daily post complaint material.

I've read that it's good to vent and get rid of pent up frustration, so this group must be the most healthy bunch in HB..

Wait, what?

So the idea is to separate the twins who have only played apart due to injury in 17 years of pro hockey because management wants to show the team is now serious about rebuilding and they don't want to adversely affect the young players? For the last year or two of their careers?
