Ghule headed to Rochester today
"After his trade to Prince George he scored 13 goals and 16 assists in 22 games played".
That pretty impressive numbers for a d-man. |

He's our only good D prospect right now, so all our chips are in with him. |

Just to continue this thread...
If moves were made....
Kane-Eichel-Okposo
Nash-ROR-Reinhart
Ennis-Grigs/Erod-Haglin(or this type of player)
Dlo-Erod/Grigs-Gio
If a fourth line of Dlo-Grigs-Gio keep you out of the playoffs, much more is wrong with the team, fourth line usually only plays 7-9 mins a game.
I agree that I'd like to see Gionta move on, but he's hardly holding the team back.
- Sabres1523
I like the top 3, but there aren't any PK guys in that bottom 6. Larsson is probably our best guy in the bottom six right now. Girgs isn't that guy, and he's not the guy 5-on-5, and he's not the guy on the PP. I don't see any value in him. As for Dlo, i just really don't believe you can have a playoff team with a guy that gets 2 assists a year. I'd also rather have foligno than Gio, but i can see an argument for both. |

borgen will be decent, will take some time
stephens took a big step forward, I expect him to sign this summer and play for rochester
nyberg and fitz, too soon to tell if worth a look in rochester down the road
and that's it |

Then we're going to have the same year - jcragcrumple
So if they make other improvements, but have Carrier and Gionta on the 4th line, they will still suck?
Doesn't seem to make sense. |

Tough to say. I've only been able to see him play in a few games since he was drafted, I'm sure others will have a comparison to give you. But, he skates incredibly well and is fast. Solid in most defensive aspects, but like any young Dman still needs improvement. He's also much more offensively minded than most D prospects. I think he has the potential to have a Ghostbear type of rookie campaign or just be a solid bottom pairing guy while he learns at the NHL level. |

Nothing wrong with that.
What happened to that guy they got in the Minnesota trade? Was it Larson? Is he in the AHL? |

Yeah, I agree, those guys are decent prospects, but they're all a considerable amount of time away. |

He was our 3rd line center this year until he got injured. Only played 36 games this year. He's a decent defensive center but probably nothing more than a good 4C |

So out of the top 6, ROR, Eichel, Reinhart, Okposo and probably Kane will be back. That means the top six is set, minus one guy. So the only place for turnover in personnel is in the bottom six. If Carrier and Gio are still on the bottom six, that means that you're only trying to change one line. If you're only changing one line, it's not enough to make a difference IMO. The bottom six needs a sweeping overhaul |

The days of the defensive defenceman are slowly coming to an end. No more Bill Hajts or Jerry Korabs. They are all quick and offensive and not very big. Makes for a more exciting product on the ice but always liked having defensive guys on my team. |

I agree. But, everything is cyclical. Eventually enforcers will be back as well as cooperalls. |
