People forget that the NHL draft is more like the MLB draft, and unlike the NFL or the NBA—drafting kids who are 17 year old.

So it's more of a crap shoot as far as to how the players will develop or not, even with the salary cap forcing players up to the NHL earlier and earlier.

By the way, how do you really feel about Pierre?

Pierre cracks me up. I bet if you went in his room with a black light, the Sydney Crosby posters over his bed would look like a crime scene....

Paul, glad you are not biased in favor of the refs. Go back and watch the game, they missed a stick butt to Crosby's jaw, a spearing, a mugging a the net where I thought they were actually sexually molestimg him, spraying him with water from the bench, one guy ripping his helmet off on the other guy ripping at his eyes. But as you say it happens at lightning speed...oh wait..these were when the plays were stopped. Please to err is human to be incompetent is...

Wouldn't this have been shorter to just say "everyone screws up"?

It wasn't really about scouting so much as defending refs in general. I get the bias in doing so, but not sure why you picked scouts. There are people who do a bad job in every field and those people should get criticized when they screw up.
