Too small a sample size on Johansson i think. I really like his size, as i think he's in that sweet spot between being so large as to sustain a lot of injuries, and too small to block the net.

Assuming Lehner and Ullmark are in Buffalo next year (expansion draft not withstanding), Johansson should get a long look in Roch

Campbell is the most under rated part of the 05-07 Sabres

People talk about Miller, Vanek, Drury, Briere etc

No, letang is better IMO.

I just meant when i think elite, i think of guys like Karlsson and Doughty who can take over a game. I'm sure many will disagree, i just never saw that from Letang

The thing about Campbell was that he seemed to be around for a while and then one year he was really, really good. He started declining about 5 years ago, but i would still take him over Gorges as a 6 D

He's really good, but I don't think he has the "it" factor that the elite do. It's tough to put a finger on

Brycen Martin is junk.

He looked like Jamie McBain at the WHL level and only got worse. Makes some of the worst reads I've ever seen.

Lots of talent, but incredibly poor reads.

Treliving said the Flames would like to add a top-4 defenseman and that expansion could provide some interesting possibilities with some teams forced to make moves (like Anaheim and Minnesota). In saying that, Treliving noted the Flames will likely be a 7/3/1 protection team and adding a defenseman prior to the draft could be difficult as a result.


It seems like a bunch of teams will go after ANA/Minny for D men
